Which did you buy from them? Bright Gold Satin Anodized Polished Clear Anodized I've bought from VTS and been happy with the quality. Polished Clear Anodized. Also, the H&M product does not have pre-drilled fastener holes, which I like as I can then strategically place and space the holes where I want them. This piece is fastened with aluminum screw nails (twisty nails) placed at each end of the bend. With pre-drilled trim you can end up with a fastener in the middle of a bend which to me doesn't look good. RinTin, In your picture above what part number are you using? I'm trying to get some aluminum edging for that exact location as an end cap on my 3/4" plywood and can't tell if that is a "C" channel or not. Also how hard was this stuff to bend to your radius?

I was in my local BigBox store yesterday looking for other things and decided to look in their plywoods to see what they currently had on the racks and indeed found 1/4" 4' x 8' sheets of birch they call "Prefinished 1 side birch". Nobody could tell me what the sheets are prefinished with...but even their website is listing it. I don't know about being 1/2" over...but definitely has a finish on it.

You've done an outstanding job... Thanks for sharing all your pics and commentary. Gives me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel...or trailer...

This is awesome...what a great idea. I'm going to use this on my restoration. I'm just working on the cabinets...so counter-tops and backsplash aren't too far down the road. I'll post a picture when I'm done.

Thanks for the replies. I found the second number stamped on the curbside tongue rail and didn't know if that "S" made a difference. As I mentioned in my earlier post the PO had the trailer re-registered as he didn't have a title. The current title now says 1978 as yer of manufacture... Has anyone from ARIZONA ever had to try and re-register anything like this? I'd really like the title to someday have the right date on it.

I've got a thread going in the Vintage Restorations section... but need help identifying the year of my trailer. Here is a pic of the VIN tag inside the front rail: Here's a pic of the VIN on the curbside tongue rail: And the little green plate showing manufacture: I'd love to know as much as possible... Thanks. Follow my build HERE

Thank you. Great read... I understand about peeking under the skins as well and that'll be my first order after removing the windows, door & trim.

Help me identify...I have a re-registered vin / title stating 1978 Manufactured Home. I know it's most likely 1965-6-7? Thanks...

Okay, I'm new to the vintage trailer world...but have been restoring cars for years. I'm a very good body & paint (hobby only) guy and will be doing all my own work. That said I would like to know the true order of things when it comes to getting the outside prepped and painted. I've already purchased several rolls of butyl tape and will be removing doors, windows & j-trim. Question is, at what point do I reinstall windows, door & trim...before or after paint? I don't know if the butyl will stick better to clean aluminum or a freshly painted surface. I want the j-trim to be left raw, so I could leave it off or install and mask. Opinions? Answers? Thanks... Ready, Set, Go...
