Just Beautiful, Tom. What wood are you using for the wall framing? Rod I am using select or quality pine boards from menards.

Today I didn't get as much done as I wanted.
I got the outside frame built for the curbside. I was able to hang up the tin to keep it safe Also I was able to fit the street side to the tin and it looked good
Don't really have any image today. I hope I can get the frame finished tomorrow.

Today I got the curbside frame done. I also took the two frames and screwed them together and got the belt sander out and evened them out with each other. I then felt I had better take the dogs and my wife for a walk at the park so did. It was a short day of work but I got what I wanted to accomplished and that was a good thing. 20200531_134900 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Hey Tom,
I like how you notched the rear radius board. I only see a few pocket holes on the top boards. Are the pocket holes for the rest of the framing visible on the backside of the wall?

Rod Rod, I kind of goofed up in that I wasn't always on the right side when I drilled the pocket holes so they could be on the other side of the frame. That was a good catch because I new I did it on the street side one but didn't catch I did the outside frame on the curbside wrong as well. I wasn't always thinking about what was the outside of the wall vs the inside of the wall that the birch plywood will go on, I hope it doesn't matter in the long run. At least when I goof up I do it consistently.

Tonight I worked on the street side and got the plywood cut, glued and nailed to the frame. Not much to look at in the picture but here you go since you all like pictures. 20200601_173540 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

I shellac the panels before I put them on. Do you spray the shellac? Or do the walls standing up and just heavily thin the shellac to gain time to work on such a large area?
Excellent work.

I am trying it different this time, I have in the past shellac or stain and poly first but I am hoping to not have to stain and poly the extra 18" x 4' and then through it away.
At this point I am staining and then putting poly on it. I am doing it per my son and daughter in-laws specs so no shellac this time.

I didn't get much done because a storm was coming and I needed to put the trailer frame back in the garage before it stated to rain. But I did get the birch on the wall. 20200602_182026 by Tom Ress, on Flickr Tomorrow I will sand the plywood down to the frame and cut out for the windows, storage doors and door.

Sorry, I have been doing something else other then working on the camper, I went camping. I wonder why I was building campers? ? we camped 2 weeks ago. We’ll go again in 3-4 weeks. We’ve been voted coolest camper at the park last 2 times we went. We parked right between $100k motor homes but we always have people that want to come see our junky little Shasta. It’s fun showing the before and after photos.

aslmx, I always seem to get spots in the back corners and in the shade. I almost never get someone to see my camper unless I am with the Airflyte and I think that is because it has wings and the one I camp in is pre-wing. Of course I wait until it is really windy and 93 degrees to do this work. I sanded down the plywood to fit the frame I then cut the openings out for the windows, door and storage door. 20200608_181158 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

I agree, wings are a big draw at most campgrounds. We never get the same attention with Non-winged campers. I like them...my wife doesn't.
Why do you cut the windows and door out before installing the walls?
Same wheel wells? If yes, they appear in excellent condition.
You're flying along.

The cuts are ruff at this point, I will need to clean them up as I get closer.
Wheel wells are original and in good shape other then the fold over in the arch.

I haven't posted much in the last couple of days. Between bad weather and busy this weekend I haven't worked on the camper. For some reason my wife made me go to my daughters to watch my daughter and husband hit a golf ball that blew up in a pink color when they hit them. I guess I will be a first time grandpa of a baby girl. Now I really want the campers to get done so we can all camp together. Tonight I stained the 2 walls. It is hard to see but they are a light gray stain. Tomorrow I will start to put poly on them. I also cut the front and back floors to match the angle of the floor joists and cut the front board angled to the floor and floor joist that the front panel attaches too and stained that so I can poly it. I hope in a couple days to attach the walls to the trailer. image by Tom Ress, on Flickr
