I thought it was maybe time to post all my progress in this one thread. I am going to start with the rebuild since I know of a frame ready to rebuild. The frame was sandblasted and painted grey. Here is is my starting point. IMG_1448 by Tom Ress, on Flickr I will continue to post my updates to this thread as I go.

Sorry no update yesterday but today I cut the metal for the wheel wells. If I did them wrong I did both wrong because I use the first one as the template. Here is the pattern I used. I am going to cover the birch plywood side with metal as well to help it last longer. IMG_1449 by Tom Ress, on Flickr IMG_1451 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Today, worked on the floor framing and then started to make sure the floor was going to fit right. Was working on a filler piece for the front floor and steel support. Then had a little issue. I can feel the pain of that wound. Been there several times. Yeah, take care and do not get into too big of a hurry, let that injury heal. It seems that this group of people likes to have fun, but, We too are a concerned lot.

has anyone used 18 gauge staple to attache the birch walls and ceiling panels to the 1x2s?

has anyone used 18 gauge staple to attache the birch walls and ceiling panels to the 1x2s? I used 18g staples on seam areas where the strips of wood will cover, but then used twisty nails where the strips wont cover. And I will use twisty nails to hold the strips on. But Im not done yet so I cant say how it holds up in the long run...

Did some work today. Filled in the front gap on the frame where the floor will connect to the floor. Also did some painting. IMG_1497 by Tom Ress, on Flickr Added some metal so I can add a bumper later. IMG_1496 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Did some more painting and cleaning up the frame. Waiting for the sheet metal to get bent so I can put the floor down. Got the tile yesterday so to show the wife what it will look like I mocked up the tile on the floor. IMG_1501 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

The frame looks nice and solid. Really good work. Only 1000 hours more work and you'll be finished. I actually enjoy the work more than the camping.
