Well my wife asked the other day why I haven't been working on the camper. Well, every night she has be doing something and every weekend we are either camping or going to see the grand baby. I was hoping to do something tonight but spend the night cleaning the garage and putting tools away, then went to get may 62 Triumph Herald out of storage and work for 2 hours trying to figure out why I have no spark. It is always something. Tomorrow will be a night with my Mom and it just keeps going like this every night.

The only time of year I can really dedicate to working on the camper is from Dec 26 - March 2 when my wife is hibernating. So now it's, lets go for walk, let's set up the pool, lets put up the awning, let's put the furniture on the porch, let's stain the porch, let's take the car out for a drive, let's make pizza, let's, let's, but it's me ,me. I gave my wife a date of June 2022 when the camper will be ready. I might make it, my restoration is frame up. Let's hope for a real cold winter.

It isn't much but I took the top skin out of the tent and laid it out on the driveway and scrubbed it with a scotch brite pad. Took me a couple hours to get all the dirt and road grime off. I then put it on the top of the camper inside the garage for later.

I’m working on the 56 Shasta and the floor is 1/2 inch plywood. i’ve always used three-quarter inch and plan on doing that with this camper along with the usual soundboard. Is there some reason for 1/2 inch plywood that I don’t understand on these campers?

I use 1/2" and then 3/16 over that running across the first layer. The floor is very close to 3/4 and the luan really makes a smooth surface to lay flooring.

I guess the 1/2" is standard grade, luan is smooth on one side and/or has flaws filled; made specifically for under flooring. I staple or screw in the cabinets. Any divots in the field are filled before flooring.

It has been a long time since I worked on the camper. I started again this week. I got the side tin out and on and started make a window frame for the front side windows. Have more work to do on it like some grinding, welding and finish work but I think this will work well and hopefully stop these windows from leaking.

Last week I bent the next window. My first try was aborted do to angles being to far off and not able to fix it. Need to work on this one with sanding and some more welding. I got some new pads to sand I hope finer so both will get a new buffing.

It has been over a month since i last recorded any progress on the camper. It has been crazy here and I don't find much time to work on it but I have gotten a few items done.
Laid out the electrical and water locations Cut out the opening for the water inlet and power cord. Got the sides in place Heated the garage to 90 degrees tonight and got the top put on and screwed in place Started stapling the siding in place
I forget how putzy some of this type of stuff is and how long it takes.
I need to take the window frames to the glass shop. I also need to get the wiring done for the tail lights so I can get the back skin on and then windows and button it up. After that it gets easier to do stuff inside camper either inside the garage of out.
