So in theory, if I take Ford blue and John Deere green (from this brand), I can mix with the white to make the Scotty blue I'm looking for

On the topic.....Has anyone tried the tractor, truck and implement paint from Tractor Supply? Also, does anyone know if it can be tinted? A gentleman seeing me purchase it claimed it was good paint and said he worked at a body shop and didn't know why it couldn't be tinted....Thoughts IMG_20180803_102623818_LL by KamHawk, on Flickr IMG_20180803_102648209_LL by KamHawk, on Flickr

I used .040 aluminum as well and had no trouble bending or stapling through. Here are a few pictures. I reused the original aluminum for the sides and replaced the roof, front and back with the .040. I had a local sheet metal shop put the pleats in the front and back metal. IMG_20180603_184814182_HDR by KamHawk, on Flickr IMG_20180603_184755057_HDR by KamHawk, on Flickr

Nice job! I'm in the process of polishing my Scotty. Since it's a resto-mod I have decided to polish the sides, front and back (used to be white) and keep the blue top and bottom sides. We'll see if I can make it look as nice as yours.

I had the same problem with my Scotty. After looking at the old cabinets, I discovered that they had a 3/4" height difference from front to back. With both cabinets on each side of the trailer having this difference, it created a slope for the roof (best I can figure)or arch from curbside to street side if you will. Not sure if this is what is happening with yours, but its worth a look.

I find it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission......well sometimes! I vote to keep the overhang, especially if you are going to rebuild it. Just my 2 cents.

I too have a Scotty. Mine was/is a frame off rebuild. When rebuilding I replaced the 1/2" walls with 3/4" walls. I am to the point of adding the original siding and will be putting new metal on the roof, front and back. My plan is to overlap the edges by 1/2" or so, then add the cap rail. I am not a fan of the original butt joint design and figure this should slow down any leaks. IMG_20171008_100941493_HDR by KamHawk, on Flickr

Thanks for the response pathfinder. I have a door off an 80's motorhome that is missing the bottom as well. I might try to take the top piece off and make it work. My trailer is a 70's Scotty

Is the bottom piece the same as the other sides? or is it flat on the bottom?
