Tonight I worked on the sanding and putting a final coat of varnish on the plywood ceiling panels and drawer fronts. I then worked on getting the lower kitchen cabinet back together and layout for a microwave and counter top stove. I then put it in the camper for a test fitting. Still have work to do on this but it is nice to see one more piece in the camper. 20200916_193210 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

The only work tonight was playing with the gas lamp (15 minutes)to see if I want to convert it to a 12v led light. I need to search for the instructions on the website to see how others have done it.
Why didn't I get more done. Had to do something more important, pick raspberries and get a shake and french fries. Tomorrow is another day but ice was calling my name.

If it's a Veritas gas light, they are harder to electrify than the Humphrey's. Humphrey made a lamp with a thicker tube and it's easier to run the wires. I tried to take a Veritas apart and ruined it. Sigh.

Got some varnish on the cabinet. Tomorrow I need to do some sanding and then final coat I hope. Then install the cabinet and get some wiring done while the skins are off.
Winter is coming fast and my wife wants the garage back so I think I may get the wiring, insulation and tyvek on and then pull it out of the garage and take to storage until next year.
Maybe over the winter I can clean parts, polish windows and hardware so next year I can get the skin on and move right along.
All the cleaning takes forever.
Also it will give me time to think about painting the outside. I have always left the outside as is on my other 2 campers but this one had more paint come off of it, do to the duct tape on all the corners I had to put on it to get it home.
What to do, what to do. I will have all winter to talk to my son and daughter in-law about it.

Got the final coat on the lower kitchen cabinet and most of the metal edging polished.
Tomorrow I will cut the new plywood top and then get the cabinet install along with more ceiling boards.

Today I took the tin out of the shed and rolled it out on top of the camper so I could mark the rear window and roof vent. I had to heat the garage up to 80 to make sure I tin expand so i could get the right marks and placement. I then put the back ceiling panel on and the rear window frame. I am getting closer everyday. It feels good. Next I need to get the wiring and insulation done so I can get it out of the garage because my wife told me that we had frost on her car windows the other day and if she doesn't get her parking spot back in the garage soon I will have to warm her car up every morning. 20201003_185217 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Today was a big day. Now that most of the wood work is done I needed to clean the garage so I can start the wiring. I spent all day cleaning sawdust out of the corners and putting tools away.
As soon as I put the table saw away I figured out I needed to rip a board for the ceiling. I lucked out and found a board just the size I needed, so I didn't have to get the table saw off the top self.
So the goal is:
Get all the 12 volt wiring done that needs to go on the outside. Insulate the outside Tyvek it wash the roof from 30+ year of dirt on it If I have time then put the tin on pull the camper out of the garage and take it to storage
Then this winter, now that I have a heated garage I can do the following:
Clean jrail, crail Buff windows, hinges, frames, and all other shiny stuff Built the 3 doors I need for the wardrobe Rebuild the 2 hatch doors Rebuild the door Build a table
Get stuff ordered and ready for spring so I can move along quickly when it comes back from storage.

I think I have all the 12 volt wiring run. I need to run the tail light wiring and the gas line for the gas lamp.

I haven't been around for a while. I spent most of last week camping. The lowest it got down to one night is 25 degrees but is got below freezing every night we were out.
I guess the season is over for me.
