anyone know where to buy some of the parts from the new re-issued Shasta campers, I would like a new chrome emblem, maybe a couple of more items. I figured they would be for sale by now through someone?

not sure about your question, but I cut some of mine, then shellac, then installed in the trailer. I guess a down side would be you would have to shellac a whole sheet, but probably will not use all of the whole sheet, so you wasted some shellac and energy doing it, and it aint easy. another down side is if you shellac, then cut a few things could happen, the saw bottom guides could scratch it, I can definitely see that happening or the wood splinters bad, now that piece you spent all that time on shellacking is ruined. not sure about how well you could mark on shellac for your cut, and the mark would then be there if you didnt cut all of it off. all in all it sounds like a bad idea.

I vote for cutting the bumper off and moving it closer in, and maybe up just a bit, I would hate to have that precious aluminum siding be the 1st thing that hits something, even a small limb or branch will dent it. not to mention if you remove and then bottom out you will possibly peel the back skin and wood off the rear of the camper. As for flipping the axles not sure where you hang out to get to see so many that were flipped and broken but I have been on this board, the prior board and others for 3 or 4 years and know a few people and have never seen or heard of this happening, but when unsure error on the side of caution.

the short answer is it depends, if you are doing it to resell later I would stay original, most would prefer to buy a stock unmolested trailer, even if they plan on modifying it like they want it. no ones taste is the same. what you think is a cool mod might be a deal breaker with a prospective buyer, but its hard for them to argue with anything if it like it came from the factory, however if you are planing on keeping it forever, do what you want and make it yours.

I saw this on facebook, I think it would be neat to have this as your counter top and table (purist will cringe) you get some Pecky cypress wood and glow in the dark resin, and fill the natural crevasses with the glow in the dark stuff, here is an instructable on it. www.boredpanda.com/glowing-resin-table-mike-warren/

First I dont agree with half of what bill said, I understand leverage, its kind of the same thing with not putting lowering blocks between the spring and axle on a hot rod with a lot of torque, however with flipping the axle you are not adding any addition distance between the axle and the leaf springs where they connect as you would be with lowering blocks (which become a force multiplier,) or from the center of the wheel and the spring perch. if you like, so there will be no increase in pressure or leverage. not to mention people have been flipping these things for 50 years. and from what I understand thats why the legs were dog legged so if you had a truck or car you could flip it to get it ride level since most vehicles back then had a real rear bumper that the ball mounted to so using a drop or raiser receiver hitch really wasn't an option. how many older vehicles have you seen with a receiver hitch added? as for tow in and tow out, I guess you would have to flip up then rotate it around, would that work?

is the camper level when hooked to the tow vehicle, you can flip the axles, they were made dog legged so can do that, or you might just more them from over the springs to under to raise it about 1.5-2 inches or if it is already under, flip it then put it over so the amount of lift is not stupid high, there are several ways to get the height you want, are the correct height tires on it?

you can also look on the bottom of the sink and on the back of the mirror, the year is usually stenciled there as well. this will get you super close mine was right according to my title.

I made a big batch of Mexican soup for the long weekend, it's basically chili with taco seasoning instead of chili seasoning. its a simple recipe but really good. it's basically Paula Deans Mexican Soup recipe except we just use rotel rather than make that stuff myself.
2 pounds ground beef 1 can whole corn 1 can light red kidney beans 2 cans pinto beans 3 cans rotel 1 onion 1 pack taco seasoning 1 pack ranch dressing mix
