The corvette had twisty nails on the interior boards that cover the seams on the plywood walls. Looking for them or something similiar to use, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
I guess I should add that they have a round head.
Ok, just saw an old post by Vikx regarding the nails not being available, so now.... any suggestions on a small fastener with a decorative or plain head that would look ok on the interior?

"Similar" nails are available, the head is slightly smaller. They are used for tacking carpet strips and available in the nail section in brass or silver color.
Personally, I hate Dreaded Twisty Nails. Repairs are extremely difficult if a Twisty has to be pulled. I prefer painted screws with a tasteful head shape. They are not that noticeable.
Mobiltec has a palm nailer he likes that drives Twisties pretty well...

They are called Twist nails on the package. Home Depot no longer sells them. They do sell #13 7/8" twist nails. The original size was #15 7/8". The #13's would be smaller and I can't tell you if they would work or not.

Twisty nails or screw nails are available from McMaster - Carr. You can order on line. They have several sizes and both domed head and flat head. Domed head 3/4 inch is $6.40 per 100. Part number is 97810A215. They have tons of hardware items and there is no minimum on orders.

a home depot near me says they still have 10 in stock, maybe the stores haven't sold out yet, I doubt many buy them. I better go get them.

well I made it to home depot, they had 2 boxes (about 80) of the crown bolt ones that are #15x7/8 in, and they also had another brand (Everbuilt) that are a different size, around they are #13x7/8 in.

What department in HD did you find them? Hubby went to one store and they looked at him like he was crazy, but we have two more stores in driving distance.

If you have a smart phone, pull up HD's website, find your store and search for them. It should give you the item number and aisle in the store where it is located.

Thanks, we found them, several of the stores near us have them! The description says they are available in finishes other than the brass, hubbby says the original ones were zinc, have you ever seen them in another finish? He's going to ask when he goes to look for them.

I used the zinc ones and they were exactly like the original. I think the brass would be fine if you are using amber shellac.
