This is the most rot free trailer I have seen. You are very fortunate. It will be interesting to see how much of the paneling you can save.

I know both of my 57s were this way as well. No rot in one and minimal in the other. Both had butted metal at the lower front and rear panels. The putty tape protected them for that many years. The tape was a cloth backed product and tough as nails, still somewhat sticky today. I hope the butyl works as well.

Do any of the panels inside even show water stains or rotting?

Now how to push a 1800 lb trailer into a garage all by myself. Sounds like you have it under control. In my wood shop when I need to move a bench (loaded with tools) or a machine by myself, I use hardwood closet rods under them as rollers. With a heavy load you just use more. Makes moving a 1,000 of cast iron surprisingly easy!

I will try and get some pictures posted of the inside but the front and back have water stains along with one front side window shows some. One ceiling panel shows it under the vent.

My dinette windows had some water marks but I wouldn't call it "staining". The infamous Shasta dinette windows...The wood looked great when I resealed them. The worst stain on Butch Cassidy was at the license light. I covered it with a tasteful scalloped panel inside, about 12 x 4. That also allows access to the wiring in that area.

Good morning, was to tired last night to type an update. Last nights work effort: Removed what seamed like a couple million more nails and screws to get the roof and curbside skins off. Now just need to figure out what to do with the roof. I am not sure I want to mount it to the garage ceiling this time. I need more room to work on the roof this time I think. 20180503_195648 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Get some help and roll the roof. You may have to clamp as you go; they like to wiggle a lot. Once rolled and tied, you can sit it upright in a corner.

I forgot to log last night or take any pictures. But here is what got done. Got the roof into a safe spot, get all the insulation gone and made a few more assessments. Roof is sagging quite a bit, will need to be fixed.

To stay true to my project I need to log what I did today. Did yard work, and other stuff my wife wanted. I did go to Menards and got sum supplies. I also ordered 110/12 volt fuse box and other supplies I will need. Maybe tomorrow I can take an inventory of what was left over and see if I need anything.

Sunday, well I guess I need to pay attention to my wife or she will find someone else to go camping with. Went for a bike ride with my wife and then goofed around for a while. Then came home and worked on the camper. Started pulling the back end of the camper apart. 20180506_185753 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

It is Monday I need to post my progress to day. I stopped at the lumber yard and they are looking for ash plywood for me. As for anymore work I left right at 4 today so I could get some work done and on the door step was my replacement shelter logic replacement portable garage cover. Needless to say the night was spent putting the cover on so it would stop raining on my junk.
I hope tomorrow night brings more work.

Tuesday, Got lazy and didn't want to work but once I got myself out of the chair I started to look at saving a ceiling piece of plywood. I had to cut all the nails off with the oscillating saw and you can see from this picture how bowed it is from the 1x2. Also you can see the black in the ceiling from a water leak. I hope to sand and bleach it out. I have already done some work and it is much better then it was but I hope the mold spray I have will help with some of this. I just found this link to get black out of wood. May give it a try www.instructables.com/id/Removing-Black-Stains-in-Wood-Furniture-With-Oxali/20180509_063714 by Tom Ress, on Flickr 20180509_063646 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

The bleach (deck cleaner/bleach is what I use) will work after several coats. Let us know how it comes out.
Also, I use trim sticks at every seam and screw into each rafter. Lots sturdier than staples or nails. I've also used decor washers where needed.

Progress report from last night: Still working on getting the stain out and also did some more sanding on other parts of the interior. Then went to store and bought lumber for the roof and side walls. When I got home ended up going for a walk and by then it was time for bed. Slow night of progress.
