Things left to do - trim the inside dining side windows - trim the joints inside - finish the trim on the streetside - paint the underside and tongue - wife wants me to put new laminate on counter and table - fix the screen door - sew the vinyl for the benches - put fake bottoms in the upper cabinets and the cabinet over the dinette - mount and paint the bumper

Got home and it was raining so I worked on polishing the gas light. Looks nice.
I got the foam for the benches so I can start getting them together.
I also got some pockets sewing into my awning for the other camper. I made the pockets to hold the tent poles so the awning will arc up instead of sag down.
Have to balance my time between the 2 campers.

Tonight I got the following work done:
Finished the street side trim Got the old bumper, cut in half for supports for the 4 in square bumper, wire wheeled, sanded and painted with primer Figured out how much wood I would need for the window trim
Things left to do - trim the inside dining side windows - paint the underside and tongue - wife wants me to put new laminate on counter and table - sew the vinyl for the benches - put fake bottoms in the upper cabinets and the cabinet over the dinette - mount and paint the bumper - Repaint the heater grill - Repaint the stove hood - put new board under stove and cut a piece of metal for the top of board - sand and shellac the leg on the table

It has been a while since I updated. I do have a timeline, in a couple weeks the camper has a campsite slotted.
=Started painting the underside and tongue = got a couple more coats to go =Got the laminate cut and read to glue down on the table, countertop and under the stove =Put in the false bottoms in the cabinets and over the table =Mounted and painted the bumper =Heater grill got painted =Painted and installed the range hood =New board under stove, cut metal and laminate for under the stove ready to install =Got the table leg shellac =Polished the aluminum and trim pieces for the table, counter, sink =Got the rest of the heater installed under the camper
Things left to do - trim the inside dining side windows - Glue down new laminate on counter and table - sew the vinyl for the benches since the benches I bought are to short - Finish painting underside and bumper
Since I am out of pictures on the site see pictures from my link below

I should be a bit more clear on my picture statement. My free flixr account says I have posted 1000 pictures so I can't post more there unless I want to part with my money.

Been getting the camper ready for camping. Got the underside painted, window trim cut and shelleced, now just need to install it.
Wife and I got it loaded with dishes, cookware, bedding and most other things that will be needed. Also got liner on the selves.
Last item but not needed for the trip is to sew new covers for the old seats. I bought other seats for now.
I will take pictures when the camper is in its element.

I don't know if I will add anything else to this thread since the camper got to go on its first camping trip. If you click on the link in my signature of the 58 project you will see all the images of the 58 restoration and the camper at a state park.
It was a year and half in the making and it went well. I did have to fix a few items, the lock stopped working on the door, the bump out on the screen door kept coming off since I put the nails back in the same holes and didn't put glue and toothpicks in first. I did forget to bring a hose to fill the tank but a nice guy at the fill location let me use his.
So I do have a couple items I do need to do:
Get a mirror cut for the wardrobe door, the wife wants me to divide the closet from the opening over the ice box and put in a shelf, cut and bend some wire to keep the stove top grates on, put a few items like ext cord, doormat, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, clothes line, lap blanket, and a small table for outside. I do also plan to sew covers for the benches.
I had a great time with the kids and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
So the big question is was all the money, time and effort worth 2 1/2 days of camping with the kids?
If the camper keeps getting used on a regular basis then I will maybe do a few things like, add a water heater, fix the floor heater, install a 3 way fridge.
I am now planning my next project, it is either a 57 Shasta 1500 or a 59 Shasta Airflyte. My wife tells me I have to pick one and get rid of the one I don't plan to do. The Airflyte has the 6 more inches of width and more open headroom, but the 1500 seams so rare and hard to find that I would hate to not see this one done right. Either way, they both need frame off restorations.
GIve me you thoughts on the next project.
For me it was worth it.

I can lock this thread if you like... Lets go ahead and lock the thread. Thank you everyone for your comments. I hope this thread can help someone who is also looking to do a restoration of an old camper.
