Last nights progress: - Got part of the frame built for the wardrobe and refrigerator and test fit the fridg - Got the bench bases built and reinstalled - My brother got the skins off the upper kitchen cabinets and wonders how they stayed together all these years 20170608_213555 by Tom Ress, on Flickr 20170608_213539 by Tom Ress, on Flickr By adding this fridg I lost 3 inches of width and height in the wardrobe. It now sticks out 1/2 inch more as well. So overall I am loosing I think an 1 inch of walkway space.

Yesterday worked on the wardrobe all night. Boy does that eat wood of the wood pile quickly. Still have some more supports to add but should be done with the building this weekend. Have to do some other life items today so will not get much done. 20170609_210038 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Todays work effort is not much to report on. My wife took me on a 5 mile hike in the hills of Whitewater State Park in Minnesota. It is 95 degrees and winds must be 25mph. Just to hot and tired to work on anything in a 100 degree garage. I will have to work on it tomorrow. But today makes me think that maybe I should go ahead and install the AC unit I left room for. I left room under the microwave between the bench seat and the kitchen cabinet. I was going to make a metal plinth that pulled fresh air from under the the camper using a couple of range vents that would face the back of the camper so when driving I hope rain wouldn't come in. It would be a upside down U shaped plinth and then the exhaust would be out the wall. It would be easier to put in now but I did invest a lot of money in this maxxair vent fan like this one. www.etrailer.com/RV-Vents-and-Fans/MaxxAir/MA00-07500K.html?feed=npn&gclid=CjwKEAjwse7JBRCJ576SqoD7lCkSJABF-bKuvIzAwzA-5-DZ3H9L5C3Soju5oSUigDIcHDL_Q30S4RoC947w_wcBBut then again, that would add a couple weeks to the project and I may not get out camping this year.

I ordered a custom made bed today from a local bed maker. I then worked on the wardrobe more. Got one side panel made and most of it stained. I just have the one more side to put on and then varnish the whole thing. I am still a bit beat from the hike yesterday. I did bring the old seat in and it fit in on the bench bottom. 20170611_184423 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

You make it look easy too, and that's a sign of talent. Cheers, Rod

You make it look easy too, and that's a sign of talent. Cheers, Rod What you don't see it the pile of wood that was cut wrong and that I goofed up on. So far I have been able to reuse most of my mistakes. The other item that helps is I have been collecting tools for years. Sometimes the issue is figuring out what is the right tool for the job. One item I found the other day that I forgot about was using a file for the fine work. I find if I cut the 1/4 in plywood a bit to big or long I can normally file or use the belt sander to get it flush. Like the vent wholes in the wardrobe, used a drill bit at the top and bottom from inside and outside so I didn't split the wood on the inside to much. Then used a knife to score the cuts, then used the jig saw to make the rest of the cuts. Then to get everything smoothed out I used the files. Thank you guys for the great comments. It makes me feel good and sometimes you need that when you have had a hard day. Tom

Been quiet for the last day or two mainly because I had to do other items with the family. I can't believe that they expect me to help them move and paint and other stuff like that when I have an important project like this. Wed I got some coats of varnish on the wardrobe, the table bracket mounted and the rail under the window mounted. My brother got more sides put on and taken off the kitchen upper cabinets. Thursday morning I got one window frame taken apart so I can get new glass installed. Then it was moving and painting day for my sons first home. 20170614_212402 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

So, are you going to have to share it with the brother when you are done, or is it then your turn to help him with one?

So, are you going to have to share it with the brother when you are done, or is it then your turn to help him with one? He would like to use it from time to time I guess. The good part is I don't think he has a vehicle that will pull it, so I may be safe.
