Back to my normal, get up early, go to work, work all day, come home, change clothes and work all night. Got the following work done last night: - Made the decision to finally cut the hole for the fan, went as well as could expect - test fit the fan and made sure it worked - cut the inside shroud for the fan - This fan is really going to be the ticket I hope. Very cool, I hope it is worth all the extra money I spent - Installed the outside outlet - The storage door now locks - had to crawl inside under the bed and have a friend shut the door to figure out were it needed to be trimmed for the lock to work I can't wait to see how this fan does on a hot day. It has a built in thermostat and all kinds of bells and whistles, but for $280 you would hope so. 20170809_214112 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

How does the fan seal against the roof metal? It almost looks like a gap there, but maybe it has a gasket farther in?

How does the fan seal against the roof metal? It almost looks like a gap there, but maybe it has a gasket farther in? At this point the fan is just sitting on the roof because I need to take it off to get the camper out of the garage. with the camper frame sitting on 2x2s with no axle on, I only have maybe an inch to get it out the door and even then I had to pull trim off the garage door opening to get it in the garage. So once I put down the seal and screw it in the gap should go away.

Good morning and here is the progress report or lack of progress report. - Worked on doing the door surround. - Made a new threshold piece for the doorway - Test fit all the pieces Between getting a late start and company coming over that is it. But I think I will be able to get the trailer pulled out of the garage this weekend and it back on wheels. The light is coming closer all the time to the end of the tunnel or I am so deep in the tunnel and the train is coming that I think it is light. I sometimes get the feeling that what I have created is just a lot more work for myself. 20170810_215642 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

Looks great. Are you going to do any 2 tone paint or stripes on the skin? Your doors look great. I love the screen door. My doors are trashed. It's going to take a lot of work to get them back in to shape.

Aslmx, I don't plan to paint, I will buff it up some more, I don't plan to have it shine like a airstream but take some of the grunge off. Today I started by cleaning the garage hoping to find a part I was missing. After 6 hours of cleaning I found the part in the save place I put it. Installed the filler funnel fixed the wiring so the car charges the battery and doesn't bypass the cutoff put some trim around the screen door installed some clips for keeping the screen door closed as well as keep the table leg from moving reinstalled the water tank put some foam around the door and cargo door 20170813_192118 by Tom Ress, on Flickr

I love the ham shape of your trailer, Tom. Makes me want to get going on Butch the 57...in good condition but I'm still going to pull the skins and check for hidden surprises.
Congrats, it's getting really close!

Thanks vikx. It feels good to be getting near the end. The hard part is I look at my check list of items and I finish 2-4 of them a night but then realize I just added 10 more. But now it is getting much more detailed in the check list. Use to be finish counter top, now it is cut Maronite board, cut hole for stove, cut hole for sink, cut hole for faucet etc, etc.
I think I was better off be more general in my work list. Talking about work lists here is what got done last night:
- glued the grey water take pipe in under the camper - built a bracket for the gas valve - take mother and father in-law for dinner - take a walk with wife and dogs and make wife happy - other small misc items from the list - talk to another member of this forum about his project
Tonight will be a bit slow, I have a monthly meeting I have to go to so the list will be very short.

Slow night last night. All I got done was a bracket to mount the gas value to and the camper, and got it installed. Been raining a lot in the last day or two so couldn't do much more then inside work and since I had a meeting didn't want to get to dirty or into something I didn't want to put down. Hard to say what will happen tonight, I guess today I have been married for 32 years. I can't believe my wife has put up with me that long. I may have to take the wife out for dinner or should I work on the camper? decisions, decisions.
