I have some new pictures up and I'm just starting the interior wood work I'm hoping to get it finished enough to make a vintage rally Oct 13 here in mid Texas.

That seems to be a very well built trailer. I love the body work, but I can't say I like anything about the interior. A guy with talent and real wood could redo that thing much better. Great find.

So I went to Flicker and uploaded some photos. So I go into , say, this box i'm in now and click the photo button above this line of text. It brings up a screen that says "URL address". so what is that? how do I get to the photos to bring one to this page?

I've had the trailer since July 4th 2015. It's all cleaned up on the outside, some repairs made and a coating on the anodized aluminum skin. Belly pan re-screwed to the frame. New gray water tank installed. New sub floor put down. Wiring replaced and new insulation installed, (and I've had it in storage for three months while I did other things). I'm starting to rehang the aluminum skins on the inside walls now. Really hoping to get it ready to camp by this fall. Photos at http://WWW.Silverlodger.com

Trailer went into storage at the end Of Oct. Now middle of Feb and I just got the trailer back to the house/shop to start work again. Almost done with the wiring. Will start insulating next week then start sanding and cleaning up all of the interior aluminum to rehang. I have set the next 7 mouths aside to get an interior back in the trailer so we can start camping next fall. Probably ambitious, I know.

I was living in Colorado at the time (about 4 years ago)when I started a total renovation on a 1949 Silver Lodger with no title. In Colorado they wouldn't give me a new title until I could get the trailer inspected. When I got it it was barely rollable. Very unsafe to pull. So I did a theft check and came up clean so I just went ahead and did all the outside work and got lights working. Then I took it down for the inspection. Officer walked around the trailer once, never even asked if the lights were working, took a twenty from me and applied a new Colorado vin sticker. All done. Strange, I thought. don't know about your state. I towed the trailer back to Texas when we moved, a few weeks after the inspection, and when I got the house remodeled, and just got started on the trailer interior again it was stolen. I doing a Silver Streak now.

It's now Sept 6 2016 and I have the whole floor replaced. New insulation under the floor and the belly pan all screwed back to the frame. I installed a gray water tank and drain too. all of the aluminum is now removed from the interior walls and the old stinky insulation removed. I am in the process of rewiring all of the 12 volt circuits. Pretty slow right now because I am building 4 pieces of furniture for a hotel My son is working on, including the reception desk. I'll finish all of that in October and we then leave for Japan on the 22 of Oct. The hotel job will fund the rest of the trailer work. November I'll re hang insulation and the interior aluminum, getting ready to paint the walls. Then on to cabinet work. If one googles Silver Streak index my site and pictures are near the top of the page "Silver Streak index"

I'm in Houston, and I found it hard to find a trailer, for a decent price, that was within 500 miles of here. If it's much further away, the travel expenses add another couple thousand to the purchase price.Things seem to be higher priced in the south too. ?? I found lots of cool trailers way up north for just a few hundred, but then they were always, like, 800 miles away or more. I finally found a Silver Streak in Oklahoma City for $4000 and even though that was a bit high, travel was cheap and it was a nice well built trailer. The interior was shot but that's what I wanted because I wanted to completely redo one. A number of really cool trailers got bought before I could get a call through. One guy made a deal with me but got a better offer, he said, and wanted me to bid against it. I told him to sell it. Just a side note, by the 70's the interior materials were getting pretty cheap, and unless it's really in good shape you'll have to replace all of the wood, as none of that stuff is still available, in most cases.(I'm talking about the plywood with the picture of wood on it) OR paint maybe? Not my favorite approach. Keep looking, something will come along, good luck. Wayne

Wow, nice find. those are a pretty well build trailer and very much worth rebuilding. I'd have grabbed it in a minute. It will be an almost total rebuild though, but you'll have a very nice trailer if it gets done right.Good luck.
