Wow! What a bad experience but also a great way to educate people on how something that "looks" solid might not be. I'm glad you had the know how to fixit on the road.

Uh-oh... your photo #5 looks like the front of my new 1969 Aristocrat. I'm not sure what I thought it was, but now I'm scared that means it's all rotted and crumbling at the base? Is that what is happening with yours? Gulp.

What a great save. Glad you made it home ok without a major failure. I have looked at a few long distance. I would put a little money down to hold it until I look at it. If no good a couple hundred bucks no loss compared to a trailer nightmare. Good luck with your build.
