Thanks!
I've done some more research, too. Agreed - it's an L-66 (not an L-66-1A). There are a couple on ebay, and a handle by itself. I was unable to find any NOS. I can't take my current one apart, as it's 900 miles from here.
So it seems I should start bidding! Maybe buy several :-)

Our new-to-us '63 AirFlyte has a broken outside door handle. Is this piece hard to get? I think I've found an old one on ebay, should I grab it immediately? outside door handle: inside door handle:

Winter. Snow. -6F. Up a small hill. Closely spaced trees. Come-along.

I'd love to say it takes special Scottish Loch flies to catch Scotties, but the truth is, they'll eat anything! They know what fishing is and what might (or more likely might not) happen. They were disappointed that day.
They're looking forward to going fishing in either of the Shastas. Hmmm, maybe we should be looking for a Serro Scotty?

Time to introduce myself! YAS => Yes, Another Shasta :-) I'm NewMexicoGal's husband. You've seen pictures of me before. getting ready to remove wheels, springs and axle: fishing for Scotties: Seems like we've both caught the disease. Caught it bad. Somehow we've gone from having no vintage trailers to two! One is the '64 Shasta Compact you've all been helping us with (we've learned plenty!) and now a really clean '63 AirFlyte. More pictures to come, but we just got home! We drove a _long_ way to get this one, and were prepared to walk away if it wasn't as advertised. Luckily, it was the nicest unrestored one I'd seen, at least until Mobiltec posted Karen's barn find with the plastic covers on the seat cushions. The AirFlyte isn't home with us, we towed it to NewMexicoGal's father's house, where it's safely tucked away in a workshop while we work on the Compact and figure out what we can do for covered storage in northern New Mexico.
