Was there some sort of stop that was in there for the screen door when it came from the manufacturer?

Well I've now found that the door casing is rotted. Looks like 1x4. I think while Beth is painting the interior Labor Day Weekend I'm going to take it out and put in pressure treat. I did find that the hinges are the originals. Just not sure why the screen door is so small and warped.

It is on separate hinges that appears to be home made. Do you guys have any suggestions or links to building a new screen door?

Here is a shot of her at the race garage when we broke for lunch. Our goal was to her road worthy to bring her back to Columbus after sitting at a racetrack for 15 years!

Okay, so finally caught up in life and have started working on the trailer. Here is a picture of the issue with the screen door. Any thoughts?

Thanks Susie! I should be taking some this weekend. I have it tucked away right now but need to pull it out to dig the driveway to level it off a little bit!

We have a 66 Shasta that has roughly a 1 inch gap around two sides of the screen door. We'll be using this camper for fly fishing that involves being in some pretty buggy areas and really don't want it to become and insect-oporium. Any one have any thoughts on replacement doors or the best place to start? I know the door is torqued and it appears the hinges have either been replaced or just beaten up.
Any thoughts appreciated,
Ben

So this past weekend my fiance and I took possession of a '66 Shasta that has been used as a technical trailer/bunkroom at one the race tracks here in the state of Ohio. After replacing bearings, races, wheels, locks and other assorted items we managed to tow our new family member from east of Cleveland back to Columbus where she is now resting behind the house. It was a tight fit and our Subaru was very hesitant at first to have 'Madison Brown' on back but we came to an agreement and the ole Forrester brought her home with pride.
Now begins the idea part. She is in fairly good shape and appears to be solid. No leaks that we've found and towed straight. We aren't necessarily looking to 'restore' her but more turn her into a fly fishing trailer on wheels. Bed for us, the stove (still works) along with solar panels for battery recharging eventually.
Glad to be here and really looking forward to learning a lot!
Ben
