We were down most of last year with injuries and never even got the fishing kayaks out so this year it's VERY high on the list.

I'm starting to get a little excited. I'm sure some of my other hobbies are going to take a severe back seat, like model trains, but not fishing. Oh Hell No, not fishing

Thanks Macnmrs. It's terrifying to be honest but we'll see where it gets us!

Yeah your right. I need to finish one outdoor project and then it's time to start removing screws. I have a huge tarp and plenty of bungies and rope to cover an open side.

I'll peel her skirts back like a prom date and check for rot. I'm hoping there isn't a massive amount back there. Wheel wells, back corners, and doors are my bet.

I'm hoping to not replace any skins at all if I can patch the smaller portions.

That's in the plans Susie. No shots of the inside but I'll turn Beth loose this weekend with her camera and get some for you. My phone doesn't have a flash.

Meet 'Mayfly' our new camper. We've actually had her since last fall but haven't done a whole lot with her. She's been out a few times last fall to get a feel and we've converted the interior bed to to a full size bed and laid vinyl wood flooring inside. I figured if I made this post I might get over the fear I have of starting restoration since I know theirs rot behind the skin. I've seen to water spots on the inside for there to not be. The question is how bad is it. Back side with temporary tail lights on her. My future in laws paid for them so I can't complain but they will be replaced I do have the wings off and inside. I'm not sure if I can get them clean as they've been taped with something across the back and have been spray painted silver. In all her glory tucked in beside the garage on the alley. She does have some bangin' new fly fishing curtains in her! Rescued from Nelson Ledges Road Course here in Ohio, I do find instances of 200 mph tape on her body. Flipping screws everywhere. I see JB weld in my future. This is our new fly fishing companion, Tai. She is also a rescue from a home where she endured 4 years of abuse. She's been with us 4 months and is beginning to make huge strides. Last project before starting the camper is getting those raised beds in the back completed. We are expanding from 32 sq ft of growing space to nearly 100 so I have to get that done ASAP. The garage is full of our bicycles and kayaks plus it's about 1 ft short to get the camper into to work on her so tarping is going to be the order of the day. Eventually the camper will be cream over blue with a metallic Shasta stripe. I plan on making her look as original as possible from the outside but the inside will be all fly fishing. I've got some plans that I'm not quite ready to share yet but needless to say I'm a good woodworker and electrician. Just been a long time for metal work. Thanks for checking it out, Ben

Greg,
It is a fear of commitment. I work 9 to 5 so I'm pretty much limited to weekends and weeknights provided I have enough light.
Susie,
That's a great idea. So those bottom panels just slide out of that channel where it's folded over with the upper panel?

Since I have a 66 with no brakes, I need to switch my car to a 7 pin and the trailer to a 7 pin just to get the battery lines?

Susie,
Would you take the door off too since everything else is coming off? I'm going to take some photos this weekend of the passenger side prior to doing anything and I'll start an ongoing thread for the repairs so everything is kind of concentrated there.
