Your axle may well have been changed at some point. The originals I have seen have all had the offset at the ends. "Flipping" the axle is literally turning it over so that the dog-leg points down and pushes the clearance higher. I'm no expert on these chassis, but it seems like blocking might be the only way of lowering the stance since the axle is already on to p of the springs.

We have a set of these on our carport, and I am looking for another set for the camper. They are LED bulbs which change color. The "dragonflies" are a snap-on piece that will separate from the lights. The lights may adapt to the opening in the owl globes. Sells about $30 at K-Mart. www.kmart.com/essential-garden-solar-dragonfly-string-lights-20-ct/p-028W005882839003P?prdNo=18&blockNo=18&blockType=G18This is a string of 20 lights, which connect at one end to a small solar recharger panel that houses 4 AA batteries. Following a good sunny day the lights will stay lit until morning. The only thing that may not work out well is the changing-color light inside of the colored owls. However if it would work, the set is compact and lightweight, and the battery pack/charger is a lot less to have to handle and keep with the camping gear.

I believe you are absolutely on the right track. The roof sheeting on the Shastas came from the factory with paint and matched the body color of the camper. Aluminum sheeting will not allow water to pass through and does not need any help to stay sealed. Some roofs were made up of multiple panels, and had seams in them. These seams may be found to leak moisture through, but certainly do not require coating the entire roof in order to seal them.
The only sealing that is required is where there are seams. The original sealant was putty tape, applied to the joints where the roof and walls meet, and any places where there are openings through the roof and walls, such as the vents. This putty will fail after a number of years and must be replaced at regular intervals. When properly maintained, there should be no problems with infiltration of water into the body of the trailer.

The bathroom in the Super is also a shower. Besides I'm not going to mess around with a nightmare like that in a small space. My opinion, for whatever it is worth, is that the on-demand setup is a great option in the Compact, and may be also in others around the same size, that were never set up with hot water (or even a bathroom) to begin with. It is not really intended to replace completely a full-time self-contained type setup. The reality is that the venting needed as well as the plumbing and fuel, take up every bit as much room overall as the original heaters in the trailers like the Super, or others that were originally equipped with hot water. The older units were nearly always the Atwood heaters, and as was pointed out, the new ones are built to the same specs as they were 50 years ago and will fit right into the same space as the old installation. If the design ain't broke, there is no real reason to fix it. As far as adding to a trailer that was not equipped to begin with, one that falls into the 15'- 20' range should offer plenty of options for adding the Atwood, possibly even more so than the on-demand. It will always be a matter of preference, though, as far as what will fit the needs of the user.

You would need a second line. Split the inlet side after the hookup to the shore water, split it off to the water heater, and add a second line to the sink. You would also need to install a faucet to handle a two-line setup.

Although it may not be so common in the oven innerds, you may also have some foreign material plugging the tubes to the burner. Insects love to build where they can't be found....

Whatever this is worth, I have a late-60's Bravo camper that had no roof vents from the factory. The body is styled like the Loflyte and the Loliner, low roof line and no step to the floor level.
