I would totally retrofit an led flashlight into that lantern... Just don't let your relatives help. relatives (especially son in laws) are banned from any future assistance with any of my projects. I'm really not enamoured with the led stuff, if it works as is then I like to keep it as is, just funny that way. I know it's totally not "green" of me, but I figure enough other people are doing it I don't have to also lol.

I just haven't seen a big lantern battery in a long time, so thought it would be easier to use a bright aa led light.

I found them online at Wal-Mart and Amazon, kids said in the camping area of Wal-Mart they saw some "really big funny looking batteries" I was going to go see if they were what I needed, but ended up spending most of my check on bills instead (dang things pop up at the most inopportune times)

I have to confess I am one of those people who haunts the dollar stores and liquidations stores looking for the old style bulbs. But I don't smoke, or use styrofoam plates so does that even out? I think I will keep a bin of LCD bulbs though for if I am dry camping. I haven't looked at the exact figures, but I have been given the impression that they use way less power.

Went to eBay and downloaded the pictures of the stuff I've gotten for the trailer so I could share with you. They're all packed up safe and sound so I had to get pictures some other way, well, except for the last one which I haven't put away yet because I've been having fun looking for other stuff to go with it (you'll understand when I show you the pic, gotta have a little suspense). So first are these awesome iridescent thumbprint drinking glasses. I grew up waiting for the day I was considered old enough to use one by my grandma. And I've missed them since everything got sold from grandma's house when she and grandpa moved in with my parents while I was in Utah. I wasn't lucky enough to get any of the quilts my great grandmother made, long story there. So I've been searching for ones to use in the trailer. I'm also going to get a vintage chenille bedspread, then have the quilt folded at the bottom of the bed when not being used. And I did mention my problem with salt and pepper shakers right?? Well, here's two more I couldn't pass up. The first set I got interested in when I saw another set that had been an advertisement for a feed store from back east somewhere. They were too rusty and expensive for only being 2 inches high so I got these instead. The second set is jade glass I love, but has the added cuteness of the puppies. And finally, this isn't as long as I think everyone else is looking for, it's only 9 inches long, but it came in it's own box and had the pamphlet showing other products. Plus it was a really good price. I want to find one of the garbage cans for the trailer, according to the dimensions it's perfect for a trailer. Well, that's all I have for now. I'm sure there's going to be more, it's a sickness lol.

A vintage Grooming Cabinet..? I hope you all can access this link. It's at one of the local junk/antique shops. I think this is pretty much one of the most unique camping items I've ever seen. tree mount grooming cabinet

Oh that is cool! I am going to stash that one away for future reference, it wouldn't be too hard to make something like that.

Definitely awesome and I'd pay the $30 in a heartbeat if it was near me.

Definitely awesome and I'd pay the $30 in a heartbeat if it was near me. It's not near me in practical terms; everything in Northern Maine is sparse and spread out. I drive 1/2 hour to my grocery store, 45 minutes to the vet, etc.. This shop is just over an hour away, and not in the direction I normally go for anything. And I JUST came through there on Sunday from a weekend of camping. I'm going to try to make it down there soon. SaveSave

While that's on my list of dream trips, I think it's quite a few years away yet and I'm sure it'll be gone by then 😃

That grooming cabinet doohicky is cool! You could modernize a DIY version and hang one of those water shower bags above it, with the hose sort of clipped in to the basin, making it a like a sink!

I have been looking for shelves, and bins to restore my vintage refrigerator. I came across photos of these old GE refrigerators with lazy susan shelves. How cool is that? They don't make them like they used to!

Lazy susan shelves would be cool, especially since every time I want something it seems to be at the BACK of the fridge.

I remember those in our refrigerator when I was very young. They don't make anything like they used to. Not even people... LOL..
