Mobiltec, we have a 1960's rotary dial phone. It is the only phone that will work when the power is out. A few years ago we had it plugged in when some friends' teenage daughters came by. They had no idea how to use it.

Mel, I love that dinning table set, I hope you replaced it with something just as cool. I had one ages ago when my oldest was a baby, of course back then it wasn't in style to do retro like it is now, it was just the only table I could afford at the time. I think we got it for $10 at a garage sale, ours was red and didn't look as good as that one.

They had no idea how to use it. So they still work! Great! I don't have a telephone line or I would hook up the touch tone phones I have.

But I did sell it for much more so I was happy about that. I mainly got rid of it because it was not very comfortable or practical with a toddler that loves to draw at the table, there was a small marker stain I couldnt get out, and one spot that I used a magic eraser and it started taking the sheen off the cracked ice finish. This is the table I got to replace it, also off craiglist

One of a few cool finds I had found at the house my mother in law bought. A 1950s Samsonite briefcase. In pretty good shape overall.

Ooooh, I love that cooler! Lots of cool stuff. My mom has that high chair still. Great finger pincher, but she could push the tray in far enough that we couldn't squirm out. Stuff has come and gone, or I have no idea where most of it got buried. My two favorite pieces of vintage camping gear are: My collapsible oven. The top pic shows the bottom of it, when it is folded up. The guy I bough The Goblin from swears by them for baking pies. I don't think I have ever used it. But I love copper. And, also never used, is my Grandma's coffeepot. I have had it for at least 15 years, but never knew how to use it until a couple days ago, when I looked it up online. I may have to give it a try. I have used percolators in the past. My favorite one developed legs, unfortunately. My second favorite only makes about a cup, the replacement for the first one doesn't have a basket (but I did find it handy for boiling water for dish washing). My latest is a lime green enamel one I bought new a couple years ago, but haven't been camping since, so I haven't used it yet.

You people have some excellent Glamping Gear. I shared this a couple of years ago. It was on the wall of one of my campers. It still holds air.

I love this thread. As I have not found my next camper, I am working on several projects. We are seriously into vintage stuff, but not just collecting. We use the stuff we find. We live in a house built in 1855 and still use the barns to house some of our Jersey cattle. Here is my latest restoration project. Her paint (original) matches my camper, and yes, I actually use her. She is great for doing lots of laundry at once, (especially really dirty stuff that won't come clean in a modern High efficiency washer), and as she has no water pump can stay in the shop, even in the winter.
