Replacement parts for the windows may be VERY VERY hard to find.

I would love to see the BUILD photos and the finished product. Pricey??? What you want is a HARD cover for your trailer. It's a cheap insurance policy to keep your trailer looking nice and leak free for years to come. I would love to know what you were charged for the restore. Materials AND labor....

I have never paid more than $500 for a restorable vintage trailer. And I consider VINTAGE to be any trailer older than 1969...

It’s definitely covered! We moved it out into the rain specifically to test for leaks. Just because you don't see the leaks inside, does not mean that it's not leaking. All trailers leak after 7 years. Even Airtstreams. And be VERY careful who you hire to do the restore. I have a student in the shop right now who paid a bonehead who claimed to be a professional to "Re-Seal" her 71 LoFlyte. She paid him $4000 and he went out and bought a case of calking and slathered calking all over everything on the trailer. Of course it continued to leak and now she he here having me help her to stop the leaks temporarily until she can restore the trailer properly.

Thanks Scott... The price of Shellac has tripled... It's now up to $37 a quart.

Could you tell us exactly where you got your flakes from and is this called AMBER for color??? Shellac has tripled in price lately. I don't know how they can call that 9 percent inflation.

The MOTHER of all vintage trailer projects.... This must be done to exact specifications. You need to do a lot of research and you're probably going to be doing some fabrication along the way. This must be done right. We're all here to help. Thanks for bringing this project to us.

Copper would become too soft at higher temps and the seals would be affected in a bad way.

You don't take trailers apart from the inside.

The grinding noise is the magnet dragging on the drum plate which is normal. That's how those systems work. You can clean all of that up and it will make less noise.

Ya i saw this a while back. Someone on You Tube interviewed the owner and took a tour of both models. The bathroom one is just too dang crowded and this thing in my opinion is way over priced just like everything else on the market. It does have a lot of bells and whistles but it's still just a box on wheels.

Find an outside source for DMV work. I use a place in CA even now that I live in NV. I just got the impossible done with a boat and trailer with no titles and I just ran it through a DMV service in CA that I've been dealing with for years. Took about 3 months and I had titles in hand from CA. So then I just went to my local DMV and changed them to NV...

Just gotta say that this build was one of the finest accomplishments on this forum since I've been here. And I think my Mainline might be right up there with it. Both well done and both very rare.

Not long ago I did a couple classes teaching how to completely refurbish a Princess stove. During that class I put out this short tip video.

It's tough learning everything the hard way. That's why this forum is here and why I make videos. Sometimes CA can be reasonable with things like registration and sometimes they can be a real pain. But even if you DO buy without a title you need to get one before you invest any more money. A quick call to Triple A or a visit to the DMV to find out if it's stolen or not can save you a lot of time, grief and money. So don't be impatient. Do your due diligence. You'll be glad you did later.
