Those look like the type of water application decals we used to have as kids. I wonder if just a little water, dishsoapy water or even wallpaper remover would let you scrub them off with a scotch bright pad. good idea, ill try that

mel When I first saw photos of this trailer the counter tops and table popped out at me. Are they in as good a shape as they look in the photos? Looks like a great project with a lot of the orginals.. faucets, lights, etc.. Good find!

Other than some scratches and a little fading they look great still, and that is after I cleaned 40 years worth of storage off it. Of course it's wrapped up in bubble wrap and in a box in storage again cause my trailer overtook my house.

Looks like a great project with a lot of the orginals.. faucets, lights, etc.. Good find! I LOVE the blue fleck/sparkle counters/table/sliders, it is by far my favorite details of this camper. I like it much better than the usual yellow. The counters cleaned up decent, but there are a few stains on them still, I won't be giving up, I'm reading all about how to get them out. Sliders cleaned up really well. The table is another story, someone drilled a small hole in it I'm not sure what I'll do about that, I might try to tint some resin blue and fill the hole. If I can't make it look decent I do have enough left over blue boomerang Formica lfrom my compact I could use. But I only have enough for the table top, so I'm not sure how I would feel about them not all matching perfect, so we willl see. what are you doing for your counter, sliders and table?

Not sure yet.... The only colors we have nailed down are the yellow and grey floor tiles. I think the rest of inside will be yellow or some form of blue. The outside will either be blue or yellow bottom and white top. We keep flip flopping...

I ordered the Aqua as it's the closest match to what was originally in the Airflyte.

I cant believe this, my husband just said he is excited about the Airflyte!!! I could tell before I bought it he didnt really want to help me with another project. But after it was home and in the driveway for a few days, he was standing it and said im excited about this one.. I never thought I would hear those words from him. He really likes that he can stand up straight in most of it(unlike the compcact)

I never thought I would hear those words from him. He really likes that he can stand up straight in most of it(unlike the compact) I think it was Hamlet that stretched the roof. A great idea. Tell your husband our Compact, which I loved, was too small for me at 6'. The people who owned the Compact for 27 years before us used it as a Doll/Tea House for their young granddaughters. Thank goodness they had girls not boys or the camper would have been subjected to war games instead of tea parties. Maybe your grandchildren will need a vintage tea house? Once you own a camper that has extra headroom, is 2' longer and 6" wider it's hard to go back. But when you pull in a rest stop nothing draws people to it like a Compact.

And don't forget, I am still over here, if you decide on parting with the Compact. You now have the set that I have been trying to put together for four years.
I'm going to retract my statement about the originality of the gaucho cushions. If they seem a perfect fit on it when it is pulled out, then I would think they came with it. The blue theme throughout was what changed my mind. Minor point I know, especially since nobody asked....
I could not spot the hole in the table in your photos, so not sure what to suggest. However, imho, if you recover the table in boomerang it should still look good. But I still have the 52% purist in me that would be looking to keep the original.

I agree, find a Veritas that matches the gas lamp foot print. Might be Humphrey, not sure.
The stickers should scrape off. Take a very sharp plane blade and go with the wood grain. It will take some shellac as well, but you can either re-shellac or touch up. Warming with a heat gun might make it easier but could also make them sticky. If so, let them get cold again, then scrape.

Knowing myself like I do, if I tried making curtains from a fabric that requires the pattern to run one way only, I'd have just about every panel upside down or sideways. BTW, that's quite the statement with those curtains 😁
We had snow one day last week followed by freezing rain to finally just rain, but the forecasters are saying snow all week. I guess we'll see. The skiers and snowboarders are really excited all the mountains opening up. Within a few hours of Boise there are three great options, bogus basin, Sun valley and mccall. I personally hate skiing, tried it twice and failed spectacularly both times, but I love sledding and that's free.
