Other than the flamingo and the Elvis chicken, I didn't see anything in there that I thought approached glamping... I don't think glamping is simply bringing more modern conveniences than you had tenting with the Boy Scouts in 1972. It's putting up velvet brocaded curtains and a chandelier. If Liberace decorated a camper, THAT would be glamping (to me, anyway). I doubt I'll ever put anything in mine that would qualify as glamping (including tree urinals, isn't that what the tree is for?). I'm just not into busy decor, wild patterns or knicknacks. Describing something as "kitschy" or "campy" is a perfect reason not to buy it, lol. Years ago, an old friend's girlfriend put a table in their very cramped mobile home, just to fill it with little white porcelain figurines of puppies and kittens and big-eyed hobo kids and crap. I shuddered every time I walked by it. A four-foot circle of floor space and a table, gone for nuthin'. My friend and I called them BB-gun targets. And I have a hard time understanding bringing along a vintage radio that doesn't work (sorry, whoever that was). Why not just fix the radio? I'm just a dull guy, I guess. I am peeing my pants from laughing so hard at this! And I am a self proclaimed glamper! aaaaahaaaa! (actually I think im half and half if there is such a thing)....glad there was a tree close by to my computer when I had the urge to go......... My vintage radios all work. You'll see "man glamping" when I get the Kenny finished. And wait till you see where the Kenny is going to live! Guys you're gonna love it. A true man's paradise. If there is a heaven, this is the way men would like it to be. Read more: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/25/men-love-glamping?page=3#scrollTo=6166#ixzz2fXIJxIxs

I brought a bug zapper just to see if we could run the solar power system down which we couldn't seem to do. Now folks... If you want to have some fun.... Take a bug zapper out into the forest or desert and hang it from a tree at night and light it up. It will look like some kind of invasion with all the incoming bugs from miles around being attracted by the zapper. Ours actually started to catch on fire there were so many big bugs stuck in it after a few minutes. We had to turn it off. A little too much for Glamping I think. ROFL! That is the funniest "Glamping" story I've ever heard.

yes and it probably smelled bad also from the bugs burning. my in-laws tried one at their plae at the lake only they pulled it up high over a tree limb so they would notice the noise but before long the smell would almost gag you. So they gave it up as a bad idea.

Great posts. I don't think we are ever going to understand "glamping" the way women do. Bottom line, we're chronically immature and easily impressed by the dumbest things.
We don't understand Glamping the way women can't understand Fishing.
Bottom line, we think ANY camping is glamorous. And with beer and it's damn near Heaven.
Wait, wouldn't Heaven+Camping=Heaving?
ok, so I'm still working the angles out here...

We have lots of guys and gals who think alike! Man Glamping is simply camping with a masculine view of Glamp. A good dog, a comfortable chair, and yes, the chest of beer...
Our SOTF members FISH, too...

Larry, NICE PIC!!! I was waiting for someone else to say it and thank you Vikx and Larry! I know lots of women who fish. Some who live to fish! I grew up fishing, lived on a bayou. Not my favorite sport now. My husband only wants to fish. He doesn't understand why I want to paddle for hours, he just wants to sit in one spot and fish. And then he cooks camp style, always with beer (that's a good thing). And it's funny, he was perfectly happy TENT camping until I got my teardrop. Then it was, "Why don't you get something we can all sleep in?" HAHAHA! So I did. (Not what he was expecting.) Mostly, I camp without him. I have a funny story on another forum about my beer cooler entitled, "How The Drunk Man's Arm Got In My Cooler." He went to jail. Don't take my last Corona. And I don't consider myself a "Glamper", I'm a "camper" with modest amenities. And this is my idea of heaven. OK, my dog fits in my purse, but I'm not a princess. Dog's in heaven, too. Shenandoah River OK, back to your men stuff that you think is just for men. I'll leave you alone.

Suzie I have been telling my friend who has a dog about that size that he needs a harness with a handle on it so he can carry the dog around like a lunch box... I must send this photo to him now.
I float and fish the Owens Valley River in California. It's a slow meandering river which is the way I like it.

Larry that looked like a nice day of fishing you didn't have any fish bother you. Well I found that floating and fishing at the same time doesn't work too well. This was the floating part. The fishing part is the rest that I haven't put up on You Tube yet. These videos are from 1999. Way before You Tube.

Yes my brother in law (Who pasted the 4th of July at 80), his son (now 54 then 6) and my self took a canoe trip down a stretch of river we had never been on thought it would take about 4 or so hours but 16 hours later when we came to the car we had another fantastic journey to talk about forever, plus we found a glass canoe in a log jam with the side busted salvaged it found owner he said if it was broke we could have it. Spent about $20.00 to repair and used it for years then about 10 years ago he gave it to his nephew and his boys who still have it. These are memories you can't get from a video game. I feel so sorry for many of the young people today that aren't lucky enough to have parents to take them out to learn about nature and the world around them.

SusieQ. Those were great pics and a great story. Here's our version of dogs' fishing -- in Yellowstone last summer. It's fun to hear these stories when the weather is downright nasty right now!
