Larry, get that eye fixed up and let's go fishing!
Sometimes I snap the hook off altogether and fish to see if I can get a trout to take a dry fly. No hook, no muss, no fuss!

Hey I want to fish the Rio Chalma. Think I spelled that right. Just north of Santa Fe up the 84 I think it is, off the top of my head. My friend has a cattle ranch there that is completely off grid and on the other side of the river with a locked and gated bridge. Wanna play?

Nice river. I hiked in to the headwaters of the Chama last fall, it was lovely. I can't wait to take the new dog in there. Anytime you get out here, let me know and we'll go annoy some fish. The Rio Grande, the Conejos and the San Juan are fun to fish, too. I'll let you know if I get out near the Sierras.

Thought there was an L in there somewhere. I hear there are some nice browns in the Rio Chama... If you know where Ghost Ranch is, the ranch Im talking about is up the same dirt road.

The dirt road to the river goes west, out to Christ in the Desert Monastery: christdesert.org/Those monks grow hops and brew beer :-) There's a pretty nice campground just before the monastery, next to the river. 13 miles down a decent dirt road. I'm ready when you are! Maybe I'll even have a trailer ready. And yeah, there are some nice browns in the Chama. And some HUGE ones ...

It's between Ghost Ranch and the monastary... Cool we gotta do this. I need to go see my friends at the ranch anyhow... More later.

I know why people fish, hehe, every male (and numerous females) in my family for the last 200 years has fished. I just never got it. I'd rather play tug-of-war or soccer with the dog. I did say I like driving the boat, though. Any excuse for a boat ride.

I only fish if there's not a kayak or boat. I leave the fishing up to my boys. but I do enjoy eating the catch, especially if I don't have to clean them. However, I do have to filet the catfish. Somehow, my hubby never learned that.

Great posts. I don't think we are ever going to understand "glamping" the way women do. Bottom line, we're chronically immature and easily impressed by the dumbest things. We don't understand Glamping the way women can't understand Fishing. Bottom line, we think ANY camping is glamorous. And with beer and it's damn near Heaven. Wait, wouldn't Heaven+Camping=Heaving? ok, so I'm still working the angles out here...Um... I understand fishing better than I understand Glamping. With two dogs, I got my camper because two muddy dogs in a small tent sucked! As did sleeping on the ground at 42. I like some cute fabrics in my camper, but the cushions are made of paint tarp so as to withstand muddy dogs. Love it! I don't understand all the kitchy, white ruffly, chandelier, overcrowded "glampers" that never leave somebody's back yard.
