I hope you at least eat what you kill! Otherwise it's just sport hunting.

Cowcharge, you nailed it for me. The Liberace comment is perfect.

I think the plaque to the right of the door says Layton, doesn't it?

I think the plaque to the right of the door says Layton, doesn't it? Or Dalton? But did that plaque come with that trailer?

My guess is that it's their family name...
The wheels really look great with the paint job.

When I blow up the picture, I'm pretty sure that it says Layton. If you go to this page, at the very bottom is a photo of a 1962 Layton. The placement of the rear window and the light at the upper left corner appear to be the same. But I can't find other photos for comparison. www.tincantourists.com/wiki/doku.php?id=layton#.UiPEqNK1HEY

What about the wings? LOL...

Just got confirmation from someone who knew the owner that it is indeed a Layton. Modernme wins the brass ring!

So what are the wings doing on there? I only met the man once. Unfortunately he has since passed so I can't ask him. I have video of his trailer when I met him at the old "Run To The Top" trailer rally we used to have up in the mountains near Mountain High Ski Resort in So Cal.

Love the brass ring, but only my google abilities get any credit! Glad the mystery is solved.

The wings are what got me. And if you look at the wheel wells and the lowered entry way it almost kinda looks like a Serro Scotty but it doesn't have the dome like top or split level top if you will. I didn't get to talk to the owner when I took the video and just figured I would ask him about it next time I saw him. That time never came.

Other than the flamingo and the Elvis chicken, I didn't see anything in there that I thought approached glamping... I don't think glamping is simply bringing more modern conveniences than you had tenting with the Boy Scouts in 1972. It's putting up velvet brocaded curtains and a chandelier. If Liberace decorated a camper, THAT would be glamping (to me, anyway). I doubt I'll ever put anything in mine that would qualify as glamping (including tree urinals, isn't that what the tree is for?). I'm just not into busy decor, wild patterns or knicknacks. Describing something as "kitschy" or "campy" is a perfect reason not to buy it, lol. Years ago, an old friend's girlfriend put a table in their very cramped mobile home, just to fill it with little white porcelain figurines of puppies and kittens and big-eyed hobo kids and crap. I shuddered every time I walked by it. A four-foot circle of floor space and a table, gone for nuthin'. My friend and I called them BB-gun targets. And I have a hard time understanding bringing along a vintage radio that doesn't work (sorry, whoever that was). Why not just fix the radio? I'm just a dull guy, I guess. I am peeing my pants from laughing so hard at this! And I am a self proclaimed glamper! aaaaahaaaa! (actually I think im half and half if there is such a thing)....glad there was a tree close by to my computer when I had the urge to go.........
