Looks like the Shasta was produced in 1968. Is this the Shasta you were looking at: As for no title, check with your local DMV and see what they require to get it titled, before you think about purchasing it. It can be a messy and costly process to get a title....that is the way it is here in North Carolina.

Hi Ross! I am told you are the person to see about our Shasta VIN! We have what we believe to be a 1960 Deluxe. The Vin is: C2S14034 Hi Ross, I posted some time ago about our Shasta vin and did not get a response. I think our post got lost in the shuffle or perhaps we did not provide enough information? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jessica

Hey Jessica. There is a good chance I overlooked your post. I am camping and won't be at my computer until Monday. I will post the year of your Shasta, then.

New to this forum and not certain I'm doing this right as I'm not intending to reply but rather to ask a question but that doesn't seem to be an option? I have a 16' Shasta scs rear entry with vin P1896 that I believe must be either a 63 or 64? Looking for info and how to confirm. Any help would be appreciated. Not sure I'll even know how to get back to this site but hoping I can figure it out. Sorry not too techno savvy.

Thank you so much Ross for the reply. I'm so happy it's a 64. Same year I came off the production line! Picked this up originally thinking it would be a cool playhouse for my grandson and have decided to rehab. It was slated to go to the junk yard as family of the gentleman that owned it didn't want it. So glad it was brought to my attention and now into my possession. Is complete and everything but the hot water tank is in good working order. Busted copper pipe that I'm having replaced, hopefully, with pex. Grew up in a family with 6 kids and we had a holiday trailer, I believe also a 64. Lots of fond memories and excited to bring this one back to life. Something enchanting about the Shasta. Many thanks.

I just purchased a Shasta Loflyte trailer for restoration/refurbishing. The VIN No. on the tongue is V26844. Can you tell me the manufacturing date and location? This may help me in locating correct time frame parts. Thank you, smlogan

smlogan Your Shasta Loflyte was produced in 1969, in Goshen, Indiana. As for finding correct replacement parts, I have found that some late 1960 to mid 1970 Serro Scotty windows are the correct size for Shasta's....same manufacture (Hehr). Hope this helps.

1970 Shasta is V29157 title says RV body style. Hmm model is N/A. By my research so far the V in the vin number is suppose to have been built in Goshen Indiana. Anyone know much about these? Are they worth fixing up? Steps are rusted out and looks like some roof repair is needed but otherwise doesn't look too bad.

bowdidily The Shasta was produced in Goshen Indiana, in 1970. As far as knowing which model it is? Without pictures or measurements, can't really tell. Compacts, Loflytes, 1400's and 16SC's were the main models that were rolling off of the production floor, in 1969 and 1970. If you can give me the total measurement from the tip of the tongue to the bumper and a little bit about the layout of the interior, I can tell you what model it might be....a picture would be better. As far as whether it is worth fixing up, only you can determine that. Do you have the passion for a project like this? Can you afford the expense that it may take? Do you have the skills to rebuild the camper correctly, to make it safe for the roadways? Once you start this project, can you see it through to the end, hit tha road and enjoy your accomplishment? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then I would say it is worth it. Most people who rebuild vintage campers, do it for the love of bringing a gem of the past, back to life. However, some look at it as a profit making deal. They tend to "Lipstick and Rouge" a camper, just for the money. I'm not a fan of these people! I have rebuilt/customized several vintage campers and the average money that I spend is around $2800.00, plus or minus. This does not include the purchase of the camper. That figure can change, depending on what goes inside and if the exterior needs to be professionally painted. Not wanting to discourage you, but a question like "Are they worth fixing up?" is always difficult to answer. Bottom line is, is it worth it to you. If it is, go for it. There is a ton of help on the forum. Post picture and ask questions....we don't mind sharing our experiences.

Hi everyone!! Like most everyone else here I am looking for a little help on my new family addition. I recently purchased a 60’s shasta. She measures about 16’ from toungue to bumper. But other then that I don’t know to much about her. I got a couple different numbers off of the trailer, (super hard to read) but the first looks like FS22480 and the second one that’s right next to it on the frame looks like either FA or PA2574. The plate on the inside of the trailer doesn’t seem to have letters on it anymore but the numbers are 22480. I’m hoping maybe someone can help me with the actual date it and steer me in the right direction for what model it is. It has all louvered windows except the putter front two. The sink is on the right side as you walk in with the stove and oven on the left. if not no worries. She’s still fun! Thanks in advance for any help.

fng007 Welcome to VTT! Based on the vin#, Your Shasta was produced in 1963, in Northridge, California. As for the PA2574, the 5 is probably a 6 and should read PA2674. This usually states the model that you have....but it's not always correct. That being said, I would venture to say that you have a 1500.
