Between the ironing board and the drapes I'm sold :-).
Looks like a really cool project. I've always liked the look of these - I'm guessing there's a bathroom?

Very cool trailer William. I like the ironing board. It does look pretty complete. I like the layout of those Shasta’s, very functional. Keep us up to date.

All the pieces seem there. The paint job is too funny.
Enjoy.

Im thinking that its the actual original paint. Its just very weathered in the Alabama sun. I think those hot rodder guys call it patina.

I almost forgot the most prized attribute of a Deluxe. I present the en-suite aka the bathroom. IMG_E1724 by will andrews, on Flickr

A bathroom from the days when an American could actually fit in that space.

A bathroom from the days when an American could actually fit in that space. Aint that right. Im really thinking of a full wet room shower with porta potty. We have a porta potty in our 65 and its so much easier and cleaner than messing with hoses.

I say get rid of the ancient toilet and put a porta potty in there. My tank was totally rotted out, not to mention having to get the cast iron Tee off the trailer. It was a nightmare. I can give you a link if you want to see the plumbing change over.

I have a '61 Deluxe needing total redo, so I look forward to your adventure and pictures. In particular, I hope you take measurements of spacing of ledge and table support under the front window. The entire front window on mine was "remodeled" to accept a window unit but I have the correct replacement window on hand, I just don't know exactly where it goes when reframing etc. I am missing the ironing board but my shower still has a curtain! Vikx I hope you provide the link because I would like to change to portapotty also. What did you do about the shower - keep it but build drain to grey water portable tank?

I’ll be sure to get pics and measurements if the wood is not completely gone.

Thank you, that would be a huge help. I'm going to have to reframe entirely the whole front. The PO put in newer windows too. I was very lucky to be able to find an entire front window panel. Does your still have icebox or fridge? Wondering what was there because mine is gone. But I have a dorm fridge that will fit. Just curious.

Maybe from the 70s. A lady actually lived in it many years ago. They put shag carpet in it and looks like the fridge was changed to an electric one. I’ll post pics of the kitchen and fridge when I get home. Still has the original stove and sink.

Here are my Deluxe albums: 57shastadeluxe.shutterfly.com/pictures The plumbing results are in the Systems album. The Deluxe had very heavy cast iron connections below the trailer. The tank outlet was about 6" above ground level. (yes, there were scars from the past) I decided to change that out and remove the tank. The tank had been seeping for years but luckily, I had good wood to reframe and add a solid floor above. I left the "step up" to help with shower splashes. The actual system included the tank, the shower trap, 2 tees and the outlet without a valve. ?? Not sure about no valve but EW! (not to mention the bottom drain on the tank itself) From the tank, a 3" pipe ran to the tee below the upper shower tee. The huge 3" cast iron tee must have weighed 20 lbs or more. Removing the tee was not easy and not fun. I had to cut Dremel slices in the tee in order to place a cold chisel on either side to pry it enough to break off the threads. I went thru cutting wheels like candy and it took a couple of hours. Lots of iron filings filtering down... There was no room to use a decent tool, so the poor Dremel it was. (died soon thereafter) The photos show the tee and results after the tee was removed. I used a reduced Fernco to connect it all together. Since there was no black water or tank, I felt comfortable using a direct drain for the shower and sink. That could be connected to a sewer, portable tank or drained with a hose. NOTE: This system must be "open" to use the shower or sink. I gained about 6" space from the drain cap to the ground. I saw no other options because of the lack of ground clearance on the original outlet. Did it ever have a VALVE???
