Had to buy a $150k chandelier for one of my jobs. They give you this crate when its shipped. IMG_1896 by will andrews, on Flickr I got 53 1x4s out of it. They are $8 at Homedepot so I saved a few dollars. IMG_1920 by will andrews, on Flickr

Accumulating more materials. I got some pink styrofoam insulation today at one of my projects. I got 21 sheets. IMG_1933 by will andrews, on Flickr It was at a great price. Nuthin. One mans trash is another man not having to pay $19 a sheet for it at homedepot. IMG_1930 by will andrews, on Flickr

Ok here we go. Lets see if we can do this. Staging up IMG_2001 by will andrews, on Flickr Not sure if its gonna fit IMG_2003 by will andrews, on Flickr Lets get the axle off to make room IMG_2009 by will andrews, on Flickr Slid right in IMG_2015 by will andrews, on Flickr Had trouble with the front end wanting to ride up when backing in with my truck, I bolted a chain eye to the floor and used a come along to finish getting it in. worked great. IMG_2020 by will andrews, on Flickr Got plenty of room. The garage door closes with no problems IMG_2017 by will andrews, on Flickr Got all the windows out. Its gonna be so nice not having to worry about rain and cold while im working on this one. Thanks Shasta Tom for this great idea. IMG_2026 by will andrews, on Flickr

Nice job! Great idea to do the concrete anchor. I enjoyed watching the journey to the back of the garage play out. Did you drag the trailer in sitting on 2 x 4s or just the frame bottom? How long did this operation take?

How long did this operation take? Rod I used 1x4s outside the garage to get over the hump then just on the concrete in the garage.

It rained all weekend but with the trailer being in the garage I worked on it late into the night and with some help from my lovely assistant we were able to get the top and all the skin off and stored away. IMG_2051 by will andrews, on Flickr IMG_E2072 by will andrews, on Flickr Water heater. Wont be going back. Looking at electric instahots. IMG_E2070 by will andrews, on Flickr Some of the framing wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. IMG_E2069 by will andrews, on Flickr Got the front cleaned up. Going to do some more measuring and photos before I dismantle anymore. Everything is going faster than I thought it would be. I believe that this one not being painted with house paint saved me. My 65 was horrible to disassemble because of all the screws being filled with crap. It took me a month to get to this stage on that one. And a great side note is I found some 1/8" birch in Atlanta. Guy sent me pics so I could prebuy until I could make the 5 hour round trip. He said once its gone, his supplier wasn't going to offer it anymore. Not enough demand. William,
Making some great progress. Good to see an old Shasta given a new life. Having it inside sure makes it handy to work on.

William, Making some great progress. Good to see an old Shasta given a new life. Having it inside sure makes it handy to work on. it sure does. I’m wanting to go fast fast fast but I need to slow down and pay attention to what I’m taking apart or I’ll miss something. Hope to have the top plywood off and ready to pull the sides by next weekend. The metal on top was giving me anxiety. It’s still in good shape i rewatched Larry’s video before rolling it up. It went pretty easy with the wife’s help. Got to order some gimp and some more kreg screws to be ready to start framing. Maybe while I’m cleaning and painting the frame it will give plywood some time for the price to come down.

Wow - you're on fire! Good thinking about documenting things. Having jillions of pictures of the teardown have saved me big time on a number of issues when things start to go back together.

I broke one of my rules and worked on the shasta during the week. I made that rule mainly because im real lazy and usually dont do anything during the week. I ended up getting the walls off. maybe I'll be stripped down to the frame this weekend. Im 74% sure i know how it goes back together. IMG_2210 by will andrews, on Flickr

William, aren't you done yet.
One thing I found useful is to take pictures with the tape measure next to the item showing the measurements.
It looks like you are moving along and more focused then me. Have fun.

I’ve got tons of measurements and I’ve kept everything that didn’t disintegrate in my hand. Hopefully this weekend it will cool down to 95-96 so I can get more done.
