Just purchased a Shasta Compact incorrectly ID'd as a 1960 on the title. Based on awning windows, we know it's a 4th gen. The Serial is T14092, so we know it was manufactured in Grapevine, TX. The mirror stamp is Willard Mirror Co. Fort Smith, AR Oct 19, 1972. Thank you in advance for your help ID'ing the year model!

This makes WAY more sense. All of the research we have done pointed to an earlier model. Now this one can be finished with the proper aesthetics for the 60's. When this one is finished the next project is an Airflyte somewhere between 1959-1962. I will share the VIN when I get it uncovered. Thank you so much! |

I rescued a Shasta compact from destruction. The VIN is V-18895. I am trying to find a year or any other info to help me license it after restoration. Maybe a salvage title?

Hello and Welcome,
Your Shasta Compact was manufactured in Goshen, Indiana in 1965. I would suggest checking with your state's DMV first before proceeding with restoration just to make sure there are no outstanding fees on it. It's unlikely, but it does happen. It's probably out of the system, but you should still check so you don't have any surprises later on. Some states can be a real headache and others are easy to register. You can also use AAA if you are a member.

Hello, I have a 16SCS (rear door, kitchen and toilet/shower) with serial number V-14998.
Any idea what year it is? It's not a "toaster" so it has has to be 64 or older. The sink has a date stamp on it of 4/4/63 so that narrows it down to 63 or 64.
Does anyone know of any difference between the 63 and 64 that might help me determine what year it is?
