Hi Rod- Can you help me determine if the serial number stamped on the tongue is the VIN? The trailer is a Shasta Airflyte, plate says 30031 and I found the year 1963 on the tail lights. I've spent endless hours trying to identify the trailer correctly so I can start the registration process. The VIN verifier who came out just put those numbers on the DMV form. There are no letters on the tongue plate, just the number above. Thanks for any guidance, Laura

The 63 on the tail light lens is the number of the LENS, not the trailer. It might be a year, or maybe not...
Please post a photo of your Airflyte so we can help you. 30031 seems long for an older Airflyte. The Shasta number should be on the side of the tongue and a small welded plate inside the tongue. If it is on the A frame, it might be the number of that piece.
Also, if your state's DMV will accept the info from the VIN verifier, I would not "rock the boat" and register the trailers as s/he saw fit.

I agree with vikx, that’s the vin. I will confirm the year when I’m back in the country next week.

The number 1963 on the lens was not the year of manufacture. Your Shasta Airflyte was not made with the angular design as presented in your photos back in 1963. As to the VIN identifier. NCcamper will have to confirm for you. I am familiar with looking up VINs with the letter in front. Pix on the internet show this might be a 1970. I know it's been a wait. Hold on. Cheers, Rod

Thanks a lot for the input. The tail lights are original so not sure why they would place 1963 lights on a 1970 trailer. Looking forward to your thoughts. The inside have been gutted previously used as a workshop by someone so I don't know where else to look for the year. Appreciated, Laura

Tail light lenses are not generally marked with a year. Sometimes with the year of the lens mold; nothing to do with the age of the trailer.

Appreciated, Laura I looked over the database and didn't find a single vin without a letter for the plant in front of it. The letter is the key. Your camper could be a V dating it 1970 or a P could be 73, etc.
Sorry I can't be more help.

VIN # W3392 I hope someone can help us identify which model we just bought, because I can't find anything like her. I've looked at the specs online and the closest I can come is the Starflyte 19', though it notes the rims as 15" not 14". ETA: NADA refers to a Super-19 in the 1968 year. I did find some pictures of one and it looks like it fits, except again, no dual axle. Here is some information on "Stella": *1968 Battle Ground, WA *Dual axle (4 wheels) that are 14" rims, not 15" *The rear has the lower bump out storage for the spare tire *The front is more rounded rather than the upper jut-out *The original folder from the dealership has "19' Shasta" written on the front in pencil *Old registrations and title show Series and Body type as 19S/8 *We measured the body at 16' with tongue 19' Thanks for your help! Here is a photo of Stella: Stella

This particular Shasta has been completely altered and is hard to recognize but I am fairly certain this is a Starflyte model with a lot of the original structure removed, the kitchen layout and the rear bunk are correct. The bathroom space and the front dinette and upper bunk have been removed or altered beyond the original design. The VIN number dates it (by the database) as a 1968 model built in Battleground, Washington.
