Nice work on the silver liner mobiltecYou did a great job on the upholstery. I have a question. What did you use for those cross pieces on the roof and all that trim around the edge where the gimp would usually go? I’m asking because my golden falcon in all it’s birth and mahogany beauty has the most disgusting plastic and tacky trim gimp edge. It is so ugly I decided to cut it off and I need to cover the edge now. So as I am not about to open the lid on the trailer just for new gimp I’m going to do a wood trim edge. I don’t want it to look stupid as some I’ve seen who have used bad quarteround that is not really fitting. So I like the way yours looks here. Please advise... Lady W

Today I am working on choosing flooring colors as that will be going in as soon as I finish sanding and varnishing the inside of my trailer. I’m on day 12 of quarantine after returning as a snow bird, which in Canada is basically house arrest. 3 years in jail or a one million dollar fine if you are caught breaking it. They required us to give in our cell phone numbers at the boarder when we crossed over. They told us they are tracking our movements on our phones and would randomly call us and we have to answer to prove we are with the phone. They have called twice. Kind of like the book 1984 by George Orwell... Well at least some trailers are created more equal then others! (If you don’t get the joke read Orwell’s book Animal Farm)..

Lady W The framing pieces across the ceiling are doug fir that I milled down. The pieces in the corners are clear pine. This trailer wasn't built with gimp. I don't think they were using it a lot back then. Video of me milling and finishing the framing for the wrap. You Tube Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddb9eaP78JQ

Hi Friends, Been dancing with my windows, yet again. I have been working on the front side windows of Andy, my Westerner as seen below.
I had cleaned up the back frame some time ago and the back frame support had some rust on it that I just couldn’t get rid of, so I primed and painted it.
This is how it looked after.
Next, I installed new screening.
So, then it was off to another window. My Westerner has two small vent windows on both sides back above the bunk.
I polished the pincher pieces that keep the glass in place. Bought a new piece of glass, re assembled with new screws and bolts and it then added the new window gasket.
Here is the rear view.
Then here is the before image as pulled off Andy.
Then from the front.
I am going to add a dab of gutter seal at the gasket joint. This was my first gasket job, so, I went with it like that. Hoping next time to make that joint almost imperceptible.
I think it’s very exciting to think that this is probably the first time in 63 years that this window has had new glass and a new window gasket. That’s a very long time! And I did it!!
While I am posting here, I bought a Coleman propane off Ebay for a good price about a month ago for a rally I was scheduled to go to, but got canceled at the last minute. I was to be dry camping in the cheap spots. It’s not vintage but it is from 1978 – 42 years ago, LOL. Looks like it was only used 2 or three times.
Finally.
On a whim I ordered this vintage looking license plate for my 1955 Rod and Reel and had it personalized. It's going to be taped to the back window because I drive slow at 60 mph. I bought it off of ebay for less than $20.

Happy Birthday Larry!
---
Rod, your windows looks great. How many did you break while taking them apart? I broke two on the latest camper. One after 30 minutes chipping away Goop.

I took the original counter out of the Airflyte. As vikx mentioned recently, it had nothing behind the Formica but a piece of masonite. Amazing. Tomorrow I'll build the new counter with boomerang Wilsonart Formica.

nccamper Are those new lights? If so can I ask where you got them? Vintage trailer supply.
They are often out of stock on the tail-lites but they get them in every month or so. I put myself on the notification list and they let me know when a shipment arrives.
The side marker lights are an excellent quality LED.

Excited to have gotten back my stove and sink from IPE!! The lighting in the picture isn't very good, they are light teal. New Porcelain by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Took panels for the RV fridge I picked to the Powder coater along with the wheels to match.

The lights in my photo are wedding cake. I've seen your lights before...more of a tower. VTS doesn't carry them.
