Maybe not a bigger truck, but is really does look like you need a longer drop hitch to level it out. There is an adjustable steel drop hitch at the pawn shop for, I think, eighty bucks, thinking of picking that up. A real heavy duty unit. There is an aluminum one too but I do not want to depend on it, although it would probably be heavy enough for the 16.5` river boat or the camper. I think they had 40 bucks on that one.

Finally getting to use up some time on the camper again. After some major work on My BIL and SILs VW Passat, then on my one ton, then on a Ford of the interior decorators. He and I trade off labor. He needs mechanicals done, I need My house painted this fall. LOL I installed the roof/ceiling vent,it is a HEHR with the twin cranks. Next, 12 volt interior lights. I did finish the fascia on the cupboards so they are now ready for when the interior guy gets here again.

I used to have a collection of busted up ones and never did use a single part from any of them. Finally one day when I was moving, into the dumpster they went. I should have at least kept the knobs. I know there is someone who is doing after market parts for them but man are they expensive. I believe I remember something like $80 per crank!

I seen one on ebay, I think it was for thirty dollars, maybe a bit more. I wanted to take Mine apart to clean it and straighten the cover. the wing cranks screws are corroded in terrible bad. I did not want to bust anything so i twisted the knobs to full open and cleaned it inside and out. did not want to chance busting the plastic liner so, the top still has some dents in it.

Installing cabinet and closet doors. I found the missing door. Turns out it was the ice box. LOL IMG_3220 by Martin Draper, on Flickr

The camper is getting close to being done. The gas lamp that I installed, an after thought, was given to Me from an old friend. He also gave Me a camper heater/furnace. The gas lamp I think is very old, it is made in England and is a "Veritas" brand. Being that it was an after thought, the propane tube is run in the corner. The cupboard doors are all installed, the back bed and bunk bed, table and back splash. Not much left to do now but pull it out and use it. The first journey is going to be over to Red Lodge for the wifeys fambly reunion. I will get pics. and post them after I get back from there, a week from this Sunday. Any how, a few pics. IMG_3256 by Martin Draper, on Flickr IMG_3259 by Martin Draper, on Flickr And the back splash. The original back splash was much prettier but it was glued down tight and I could not get it off without ruining it. This one is not too bad and will do its job just fine. The cushions on the bed and bench seats were original to the camper but are in very nice condition so I did not recover them. They match the interior quite nicely.

Marty, I know you got a few ahems about the wallpaper, but I think the overall look is very classy, especially with the wood cabinet doors.

Yeah I know, about the ahems. LOL If I had to do over again, I would order in regular paneling, but I wanted the Birch look and that Lauan stuff I bought was not going to be nice, with the different shades. So then it was either paint it or wall paper, the wall paper I think is much more classic than a paint job. LOL The interior guy mentioned painting the cabinet doors, that`s where I put down My foot and said, NO, they will get a nice clear coat and He was okay with that. This wall paper does have the classic appeal of the old speckled looking paneling stuff that was once used in campers and such. I think it came out looking very nice and I guess that is all that really matters. LOLOLOL

I mounted a brand new fire extinguisher right next to the door. I figure, if a fire would catch a holt, I`d get out the door where I would be able to think more clearly, then, being the fire extinguisher would be right there, decide if it would be a flight or fight situation. I listened to a suggestion or two from one of the threads about a camper catching fire. That is why I decided that next to the door would be the best location. I also installed a new smoking detector and a new CO2 detector too. Reading the instructions for mounting the Co2 detector did not really give clear instructions about how and where to mount it. Other than somewhere in a non ventilated area and a couple of other ideas, then it said as long as it was within three feet of the floor would be okay. So, I just laid it on the floor fairly close to back bed. LOL

Loaded up, hooked up and ready to roll to Red Lodge bright and early in the morning. Lots of trails to ride over there so the Son in Law is bringing along His four wheeler scrambler. The deepest drop I could find, in this town, on a receiver hitch is six inches. I wanted a seven or eight, guess this will have to do for now. It at least isnt pulling up such a steep hill as it was.
