Isn't it amazing how that works? I see the used steel wool powder in the back ground. I do that in front of the TV with news paper spread out on the floor. LOL..

Well I am now shining things daily with no end in site, I have a feeling this will be my least favorite part of the resto... I have everything to my wings ready to screw together, I just need to get some longer screws for the edging. I have been a busy lady... I cant wait to take the skin off and get to the fun stuff!

I finished the wings the other day. And I have been slowly working on the sliders, table and counters. Cut the backer board the other week, then glued them together last week, then mitered them today. I only have to cut the sink holes and handle holes on the sliders and they will be done. We ended up finding an awesome miter blade to do the the skinny 1/8 plus the thickness of the formica.. The regular blade we started with didnt work well because it was designed for thicker wood. If anyone needs to know exactly what one, I can find it for you on the internet, just let me know. They are looking pretty good.

That would be great.
How did you do your sliders? What did you use for backer-board? How thick? I have to make two but don't have a template.

Oh ok I was wondering what you meant by a miter bit. That's actually a flush trim bit for Laminate. It's ever so slightly off from 0 degrees off of flush. This is done so that things sliding over it like towels and arms don't have a chance to grab the edge and start pulling it up over time. You done good Mel.

I was so excited when I found this in one of the cubbies I took down the other day. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I did a little happy dance. perfect condition!

Add one to "how do you know you have a vintage camper problem"... You find a corroded piece of aluminum and do a happy dance at your luck.

Take a good look at that Door Bottom and you will see that really they are not all that hard to make. I've made a few of them now and I even made a door side on the 54 Aljoa. Yes you need access to a hand brake but it really is pretty easy. Good job finding that piece. Someone was smart enough to save it when it fell off.
