I really like the curtains. Very retro! Can't wait to see them in place.

I finished sewing all my curtains the other day, then spend 2 mornings seam ripping part of my canvas bunk because I was not happy with one side of it. So after having my sewing machine on the kitchen table in the way for a week, I decided to set up a work station. This is where I will do all my sewing, and also where I will rebuild my wings and fix/shine my windows until winter is over.

Sorry my posts are not very exciting right now, but there is only so much I can do in Michigan winter. So I started sewing the curtains today, I am leaving the top unfinished until right before I put them in, so that I can get the height perfect. 2 done, 6 to go OMG Mel... LOL... The 59 Airflyte I'm working on has that exact same material for curtains.

I went and bought all the material I need to rebuild the wings, the edging should be in next week so I figured I should get to shining. Who ever decided to put duck tape on these is a very very very bad person, haha goo gone did nothing. I believe I read that nccamper had to use gasoline to get his off... So I guess thats next on my list.

Pretty excited picked these up for $20 bucks each today, only a few miles away from my house. They are in awesome condition, from a mercury comet. Now I can throw away my rusted out rim and clean up my other very rusted one for a spare.

What a great find and deal! Did they happen to have the hub caps?

SusieQ , no hubcaps, he said that most are the car parts are packed up, but if he came across them he would let me know. He had originally just had the comet axle up for sale on Craiglist, so I just emailed asking if he had the rims. When I got there he said he didn't think of even putting them up for sale that he was just planning on scrapping them. So I got pretty lucky for emailing him and asking about them. I almost got a 3rd wheel for free, but he couldnt find it. he thinks it got thrown away.

You can get the entire light can and all from VTS brand new for $50. So $100 for the set.

I've used the VTS lights and was happy with them.
Don't try rust remover on those lights...they'll vanish completely.

Hamlet's looked just like that, except for both lenses were broken. This was before the reproduction lights came out, so hubby meticulously glued them back together, we used something else (a can lid, I don't remember) for the backing. The amount of light that made it through those old lenses was abysmal, but we were ready to put them on and use them. I heard, through the old VSTF that the new ones were finally available, ordered them, and have been thrilled with the result. The plastic is much clearer or reflective, or something, because they are at least twice as bright, and we don't have can lids for the backing anymore!

Well today was a very productive day, I took out the benches to refinish them. I got the counter and ice box out and a few other odds and ends. Hopefully I can start taking the skin off next month. I was surprised that the sink didnt have any clips or anthing, just balanced on a few pieces of wood.

Does a great job too considering all the bouncing around these trailers do.
