I've been calling my trailer Willie the Wandering Gypsy after the Waylon Jennings song that was written by Billy Joe Shaver about Willie Nelson: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNfi3T3xJxw

Luna Lovegood, who is a character in the Harry Potter series. There's no direct connection between the name and our 64 Oasis, but shortly after we got her, we started planning a trip to Universal Studios Orlando (which has a Harry Potter section of the park). In preparation, we were re-watching the whole Harry Potter movie series. We had been trying to think of a suitable name for our new trailer, and as soon as the Luna Lovegood character was introduced, my partner and I simultaneously exclaimed, "That's it!!!"

I've been calling mine Scotty only because it came with Scotty badges. The first one I tried to remove popped off and popped me, saying "Badges, we don't need no stinkin' badges". I'm down with that, dude.

Mine has a home-built title...so his name is Homer. I did make him a logo tho, he'll have nice little signs like all the other trailers when he's finished.

Back in 1988 I had a brand new Chevy 1 ton truck with extended cab and put my old cab-over camper on it. I lovingly called it "The Porta Party". This photo was taken in Telluride, Colorado at the 1988 Hang Gliding championships. All the bozos you see outside my mini motor home are hang glider pilots. Both competitors and fun fliers.
So, it's 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning, and I am sorta doing the morning groggy thing. I look at this picture and think, you know what, I want to post about how much I love this picture. Thinking in my grogginess that Dave K posted this, I type the following: Pardon the threadjack. I love this picture. You guys are having a blast! It really captures the moment well. Do you know where everyone is now? The guy on the ground with the green baseball Tee sorta looks like Larry (Mobiltech), LOL. Then I later realize, hey wait, Larry posted it and guess what, Let's play Where's Larry? I unwittingly did. Someone get me a coffee, will you.

LOL well I took the photo so Larry is behind the camera. But yes Rod. I know where every one of those people are today and still see all of them on a regular basis. As I said these friends of mine are all hang glider pilots. The area is Telluride CO. and the event is the national hang gliding aerobatics competition held in Telluride each year. That's my hang glider on top of the camper. At this competition we launch from a snow covered peak at 12,500 feet above sea level and land in the town baseball field/park right in front of where this photo was taken. It's a week long event and yes, a lot of fun was had.

1972 RedDale- Foxy Redwood
Foxy, because my daughter loves foxes and we found this lovely little hand carved MCM sleeping fox that fire perfectly on the front shelf. Redwood, because when we were rebuilding the front end, my friend that helped out with the carpentry had a bunch of scrap redwood that he brought from LA with him, so both front corners are rebuilt with redwood 1x2 and 2x2!

I'd post the name I most often call mine, but this is a family forum.

When we got our Shasta our kids loved the wings and started calling her Pegasus. That has since then been shortened to Peggy. Considering how much time and money I am spending on her, she is more of a Piggy then a Peggy!

My 1955 Shasta is called The Flamingo. The reason is a little convoluted, so please bear with me. A couple of decades ago, when my daughter was a teenager, I once joked that I wanted someday to have one tacky, pink plastic lawn flamingo for every year I had lived. My daughter has the memory of an elephant, so one morning this summer while she was visiting I awoke to a garden full of the things. She bought the big box from Home Depot, and then had to buy some more. No, I won't tell you how many, but one for each year. A few days later I found the trailer on Craigslist, commenting that the last color I wanted was pink. How could it have been named anything else? (The picture in the ad lied. It's really a faded orange, but when I'm done it will be coral and still named The Flamingo.)
