A bit of framing work tonight. The front part of of old Dottie isn't too bad so just a bit of frame board replacement. The dark wood framing you see isn't bad, actually pretty darn good so I didn't mess with it. Damn the staple happy folks who put her together An endeavor that I figured would be an hour or so pushed closed to 2 1/2. Still fun. What's that white stuff you see? Don't sleep on the Titlebond II.. OK, I like glue Moving back to the skirt boards on each side soon I think; I'm pretty sure they need some attention.

Shasta abuse.. that's what this is called. Poor old Dottie; her rear end was removed this evening. Told her it was for the best and part of a bigger plan; not sure if she believed me. Mrs. RJ came out and gasped..."is that really nececessary"? I'm not sure either one believes me that this is a part of the necessarily methodology. I immediately told Kim it was mobiltec and vikx's fault. They both told me this is the way forward. Not sure if this consoled Dottie or Mrs. RJ, seemed like the thing to do at the time.

Looking good RJ. The side skin on the street side will need to be removed also before you move on.

That's a good copy Larry. Gonna remove the lower 1/3 street side skin next. I know there is skirt damage on that side and hoping it doesn't radiate "up" very far although at least a portion of the associated paneling needs attention in the lower rear/street side. The ice pick test seems to indicate that only the rear skirting needs help on the street side. Once the lower street side skin is removed, I'll work on both side repairs/rebuilding before the rear gets rebuilt and goes back on. Oh, the last 3ish feet of rear flooring is gonna be replaced also as the curb side corner is pretty bad, radiating across the rear towards the street side a bit, mostly in the very back. Man, that multi-tool cutter blade really buzzes through material nicely, and, the sawsall makes short work of nails! Both were acquired at Harbor Freight Thanks for keeping me on track! RJ

Well, I didn't do much over the weekend so did a few things tonight. Built a couple of saw horsies and attached a big ol' 4X8 piece of 3/4" CD plywood to the top of them for a workbench. I came to the realization that I need something large and realtively flat to work on, skil saw on, keep the redundant tools needed for trailer work handy, etc.. I made it just tall enough so I could slide my table saw underneath it. I also pulled the rear/road side skin up a bit on Dottie and good news, not much water damage there Will be replacing the skirt board up to the wheel well, and, a small chunk of the rear framing and associated paneling. Used a flash on the skin up pic and it kind of looks like a zombie attack but not nearly as bad as the pic makes it look. Just wanted to share my evening endeavors.

Some girls who are viewers of mine took a trailer with paneling like that and completely replaced it all with birch. It looks fantastic...

Thanks Larry but it isn't happening with this bird. We like the 72 but are not willing to tear it down completely and redo the cabinets. Now the old King, that will get the full meal deal. May take me forever with my work/family schedule but the I'll cut no corners on the 54

No, you're not an Airstream.... "I am so, just look at my front"!! Sorry folks, Dottie is having a bit of an identity crisis. We'll talk to her later about it. I'm not sure what the confusion is Ahh, it's the insulation I installed on her front...
Worked last night and today on finalizing and installing the curb side, rear wall assembly (complete with paneling). Weird, it seems to fit fine Mobiltec's instructions worked yet again. Here's a couple of pics of the wall assembly back where it belongs. I'm thinking I'm on the the rear/lower wall portion next. We'll see how the weekend shakes out. Thanks for looking. RJ
