Road side rear window went in today and got busy on the roof vent. Had to do a bit of mod with the underside vent trim piece (I guess my trailer is thinner than the newer ones?) but got er done. Got to get the Dicor lap sealant tube of caulk going and I think it turned out fine. Ended with another coat of the pro-flex seam sealer on Dot's three roof seams (they're a bit suspect so I'm giving them the recommended three coats). Had a good day. On to Mrs. RJ's taco salads... it's a great day! Thanks for looking.

The window looks great... I've use Plast T Coat on a seam or two on roofs that the owner refused to replaced. And actually I just handed the stuff to them and they did it cuz I didn't want the responsibility later. So let us know how it worked out if it ever rains good again.

I hear ya Larry. The seams aren't bad, just suspect by my trained amateur eye . She'll be fine. Bring on the celestial H2o.

Had the day off today a bit more progress last night and today. Prepped and installed Dot's front window and louver. Disassembled the louver mechanism and cleaned it up best I could (the window frame and louver metal in front is a bit pitted but not that bad I guess). The slide link screws on the louvers, both sides, were rusted to hades and I didn't have a match in the shop, sooooo... car clips! Yep, they worked fine. Got the louver itself painted up and put the assembly back together and got it installed. Put one last coat of proflex on the roof seams to end the day. So on the the j rails I think next. Still a long trail ahead but making progress. Thanks for looking.

When you remove the paper from the putty tape always pull it backwards 180 degrees in the other direction folding the paper all the way back to on top of itself. Don't pull it straight up. That pulls the putty away from the surface you are applying it to and stretches it out of shape. Straight back, not up.

Wow. Just wow. Amazing work but kinda scary knowing what I'm getting myself into with my '66! Don't be scared. The journey is most of the fun. Once you are finished and have been to a couple of rallies with it or camped out in it a few times you won't be able to keep yourself from looking for another one to start. This is a very addicting hobby and the high just keeps getting better.

Howdy VTT'ers! I'm still around but have been completely overwhelmed by the busiest summer ever. Gonna get back out starting today and finish little Dot up. Once close to completion, the little Shasta will be offered up for sale. She's been a great first project and I have learned a "ton" fixing her broke wings but Dot's gotta give up her shop space so I can move the Big King in for her "complete" tear down... now that's gonna be a challenge. Anyway, just checking in and saying hello. I'm rapidly learning that my trailer fix up time is gonna be in the winter, starting in Octoberish thru late spring. Summertime is seemingly pulling me in too many other directions. Guess I just need to retire soon so that pesky work thing doesn't cut into my time (grin).

A bit of color today. Prepped and painted the racing stripes (grin) on old Dot today. Will put another coat on tomorrow and see how she looks. Thanks for looking. RJ
