Finally found a photo I could use LOL... Lady G you are right. But you see, some people just want instant gratification and they have the money. They also may like the idea of a factory warranty... Can't get that with a restored trailer unless it came from me.

I should clarify... I am not against new trailers. Our big trailer is new, it has a warranty and it is totally Glamped up. I think I have posted photos of it here, but if not. Here is a tour of my big trailer, it proves that you can make even an ugly modern Glamper charming. Tour of Lady Wendolyn's big trailer
That being said... The most redeeming thing about the re-issue is that hopefully people who do not know how to fix a trailer and would have gotten ripped off or have driven adangerouse pile of sticks on wheels, now have an option...

Anyone who has been to Vegas to see the fake Eiffel tower, and the fake Venice with the gondola's, and is satisfied with that... instead of Paris and Italy, well what can you say?
Great............now you tell me they are fake!
They "did move" the entire rock London Bridge to Lake Havasu, AZ. So I believed them, when they told me they also moved the Tower, and the Gondola's!
Now I have nothing to believe in, darn!

Well re-issues are a reality and they will happen again and again over time, as long as there is something worthwhile to re-issue. As far as I'm concerned I can't wait to get back to working on vintage trailers because all this typing is starting to wear away at me. The whole reason I did the videos is so I wouldn't have to explain this stuff in text any more. Boy did that back fire. LOL....

If they are going to make new campers, why not simplify and market to those folks who want to upgrade from a tent or popup without all the extra shore power and bathroom plumbing needs? A lot of us like camping solitude and would appreciate more of an off grid model based in LP and chargable battery energy use.

Well, the popups nowadays have all the amenities, even a shower and potty! I couldn't believe it.
I agree it would be nice if they were a little more boon dock friendly. But then, our vintage trailers are SO MUCH better. LOL.

Everyone is jumping on the Vintage Look Re-issue band wagon and it's all our fault. We are the ones who had to have rallies and show off our neat little hobby. Now that it's caught on all the dealers are jumping in and wanting their share of the spot light. Winnebago just did the same thing with their old Brave. www.gowinnebago.com/products/2015/brave/

Thing is, the new trailers aren't nearly so cool...
But I kinda like the Winnie. It's got all the modern stuff and still looks vintage. What's not to like? AND: it will tow your *real* vintage trailer.

You may see a lot more canned ham style units being built for a couple of different reasons which fit into today's world very well. They are more aerodynamic than a square box which means less fuel, there are a lot of families that can't afford a hundred K for a camper, and I think many families are discovering the joys of simple camping, the way grandpa and grandma did it. Enjoying more hiking and campfires and everything that goes with it. Also last but not least money is rapidly becoming a bigger factor in what families can afford to do.

That's why the vintage trailers are out of sight right now in price...small and they work. New ones aren't cheap. I'm happy to see them, tho, fun. Not to mention the throng of admirers at every stop when you have a *REAL* one....
