Yep I think it's all it's supposed to be. A salute to the old days when Shasta was still a growing company and America was still free to compete. The consumer ran the market back then. Unlike today where corporations dictate what you want and what you will get. It's a safe and good looking trailer for the growing family and perfect from an economical stand point. Beautifully said! I love you mobiltech

Hi everyone! I am new around here. I just pre-ordered the 1961 replica model from paul sherry RVs. They gave me a great price at $13500 (everywhere else I looked was saying $15k to $16k) but they will only get them in if they have enough pre-orders. Anyone that is looking at them should look here so I can save $1500!!! Here is the page I found: www.paulsherryrvs.com/pages/2015-shasta-16-airflyte

Every trailer I have owned I would rather sleep outside on the ground or in a tent than in the trailer. Might be a tall guy thing though.

Larry maybe you just like the thought of waking up with a big old snake curled up next to you trying to keep warm. Personally I like a nice dry trailer bed with the A/C or Heater keeping it comfortable and no rocks or tree roots under me and no uninvited guest. I'm 6'6" but my legs will still curl up.

Actually Bill, so far my 1961 Lil Loafer has been the most comfortable to sleep in. Me and the dog and that's all there was room for. Weird eh? The box on that thing was only 9 feet long.

The Shasta Retro will be introduced to the dealers at the industry Open House, which is Sept 16-18 in Indiana. Mount Comfort is the only dealer who has seen a unit, and it was the prototype used in the video. The production 16' & 19' units should be ready for the Open House, which is where dealers place orders. The word got out about these before the factory was ready to provide materials and final info, and the dealers were swamped with inquiries. They've been taking orders sight unseen - the price on the 19' is not even fixed yet. The 16' is msrp 14,999, and the 19' is less than $1k more, according to the area rep we spoke with. The 19' I ordered will probably not be delivered until spring, but there will be more info available after the open house. Does anyone know if the public can get into this event? I'd drive down to see what I bought, if I can get in. Our dealer told us no, but maybe someone else knows a way.

Loved the look of the outside, but not the inside- the rear gaucho is useless and we'd rather walk a block to a shower house than have a toilet in our camper (though ask me my preference when I'm camping and have to go pee at 2 AM and it's raining outside!) What we ARE interested in is the way they do the side dinette windows- they say they are the same size as the originals. I may have missed a discussion on this, but does anyone have info on whether these would fit an original 1960 Shasta and if so where can we get them?

The 5'2" rear bed is really just for kids, it seems. The dinette would be made into bed for adults in the 16' version. The 19' has an L shaped couch in back and two sections are pull out gauchos that will make a real bed. The MSRP on the 19' unit seems to be $16400, as that is what we were quoted last week.

Sorry folks...why are we devoting 5 pages to a reproduction of a vintage Shasta? This is Vintage Trailer Talk...anyone who buys one of these needs to find a Reproduction Vintage Camper Talk site or create one...owners of vintage campers and new reproduction owners/tribute vintage camper owners are like fruit and nuts...both have rightful places on the planet but not together except for maybe in a Cadbury's Fruit and Nut candy bar yuuum, imho...trailerparkluke, sorry, I'm calling you out for your shameless advertisement for your Uncle Paul's RVs business, hope you make salesman of the month.

If they want to tribute they should be offering custom color combos.
