Hello my name is David and I'm a vintage trailer addict.... Hey guys and gals on my frame off restore of a 59 Shasta Airflyte I will need some frame repair. But I have no reference to how that frame should look. I (Thank Heaven) have a good buddy that can weld anything. His dump truck bed used to be a water tower. I can buy new steel..... I just need a pic or link or sumpin to do my plan from. I have surfed all over and watched Mobiltec's videos over and over. Thanks Larry BTW they are great but have seen little to ZERO of the naked frame ( insert camper porn joke here) my main questions are : Are the cross member intentionally bent anywhere? What do the original back bumpers look like? ( I've seen C channel and square tubes. ??) Where there options on bumpers? This site has been VERY helpful. I have been intermittent on this project but the push is on to get it OFF the frame. I have another bud that does powder coating and the frame front and back will get coated to match the wheels in turquoise. Also the curtain clips, rods and some of the other interior stuff will get white powder coating. Even gonna have the lamp bases coated in chrome (FYI chrome powder coating isn't quite as shiny as chrome plating)

The picture is a little old as it has the dinette and front upper cabinet, rear bed and bunk shelf out. Ready to remove roof cross pieces and then all the closet and kitchen cabinets. Then I can remove and BURN the old floor LOL

As for the bumper question, they were c channel but if you look at how they mounted them you can't really hang anything on them. I replaced mine with 4 inch square tube. I sent you an IM with some likes to my full set of pictures for the 54 and 58 that I did or am working on. Good luck.

OK I found Shastatom's build log and photos. Absolutely priceless to me right now. Thanks Tom! Answered all my questions. What a gold mine. Super nice guy too.

Got all the lil pieces of metal done too. Curtain rods and clips, water filler, vents and bunkbed brackets.
