Hi Folks, Been reading around the new forum and wanted to register and say hi to fellow "old style camper people" We have done a lot of work so far to ours over the past 2 summers since we got it and I enjoy reading what others have done to their campers, I am a DIY guy with a low budget and will have to do some interior work this winter and I will contribute pictures in hopes it will help another camper fan. I love seeing all the different brands and styles of campers and what folks have done with them. I know it's not a popular mode/style but it was all I could find on a budget Thanks for the site here, Skip and Wendy

Please feel free to flood us with photos! That is a sharp exterior, anxious to see the interior...of course that is because we're hopeless voyeurs here.... I'm guessing this has the rearward entry door, full bath in the rear corner, streetside galley, curbside dinette, and all that pull-out and pull-down sleeping room in the foreward section. Love that great roomy layout.

Thank you number ten, your description of the layout is dead on the money :)I plan to do some wood replacement up front this winter and I may do a wall paper that looks like log cabin walls and wallpaper around the stove that looks like stacked river rock but I haven't made up my mind totally yet. I have already changed out the palm tree wallpaper border in this picture but don't have a pic of the bathroom. here are a few more pics for ya...

Sounds as though you have already done the structural stuff, and the decor is all that really needs the work...hope that is right, because the decorating and personalizing is always the fun part! This is a great interior...So many of the manufacturers went to the really dark paneling in the '70-s...this looks so much better...brighter, more airy.

Here is a pic for ya, This is how it looked when I found it, Poor thing was rough but only on the outside, The inside was surprisingly nice and had no rodent evidence or any bad smelling "somethings or others" in it although I looked around and found that some woodwork was in my future for sure no getting around it and I have done a little temporary structure work to hold till winter when it's cooler to be inside doing wall panel work. So I see the outside and I cringe a bit but I have to get a fixer upper to be able to afford it then I figure the inside must be just as bad but I go in and see all new curtains and seat foams and covers custom sewn and everything worked WOO HOO! I take it straight to the car wash and 3 hours later I'm in Cades Cove campground surprising my sister who is there camping and has no idea that I will showing up with my camper I have searched for a little over a year, I had washed all the green from the tree off had no clearance lights or brake lights but I camped in it the first night I had it

I'm REALLY excited about your camper (and experiences fixing it up) as I happen to be at the very beginning of a restoration/rebuild of a 1977 Wilderness! Did you have to do any exterior replacement? Mine has some pretty bad spots (all the corners are loose, extensive water damage, etc). But, the tires are good! lol Keep posting pictures of your work!

I did take some pictures...but it's been a long day. I'll try to post them tomorrow. Did you replace the stripe on yours? Looks like a different shade than your original picture. Also, I like the hub caps.

The stripes originally were green and I changed them to graphite gray and a pearl type tan middle stripe. The gray is the same as the wheels on my jeep and the tan was because of the tan interior so it tied things together sort of. the hub caps were a last minute choice when I first got it, They were the only ones that had chrome on them at the auto zone store. I have hail damage on the street side I am going to address in the last of the summer months, The last owner told me when I went to look at it that if I was a few days sooner coming to see it and take it home it wouldn't have been in that hail storm. I have already done some hail damage repairs on it last summer but then when the cold weather came I had to stop, I wont be able to fix it all, Some of it just isn't fixable but it will look a ton better and not really noticeable when done. Here is a pic of that side.
