I'm with you on your thoughts of this being a 66. I've found that 66 is a transition year for the Shasta exterior and have found that the various factories would "run out" products/pieces before starting with new upgrades. So, some 66's look like yours and some have the gold band on them. Also, it wasn't until 67 that they changed out the appliances to avacado green instead of the off-white. Also, the aluminum back splash was dropped in 67 and the typical marbled marlite instead...I wish mine had that back slash...LOL
This information was given to me by an ex employee at the Leola, PA plant. Sadly, he has passed and getting any more information may be impossible unless I find other ex employees.
