I am out of town right now pickup up the SCS. When I get home I will get pictures posted.
There is no F at all infront of the S. Like I it pointed out that in reading the 59 pages of the forums that the 63 SCS didn't have the FS they only had the S. Which is why I could date her myself as a 63.

I’m trying to confirm the year of my Shasta Stratoflyte (‘69?). Does anyone know on the CA dept of housing & community development ID plate does the “M” section designate the year and top right section designate the dry weight?

The VIN IS S31858 The data seems to point to a 1976 built in Columbia, South Carolina (plant #6).
Can you post an exterior photo?

I bought a Shasta 1500 with a title that says 1951. I know that isn't possible. But by comparing body shape and front side windows I suspect it is a 1955. VIN is C5166. I believe that is why the original owner registered as a 1951. Do you have a vin # close enough to confirm the year of conception? Also, the sink was removed so I don't have that clue. i have a 64 Shasta trailer. how do i PM the moderator to get info on the VIN? Post the vin number here. You will find it either stamped or on a plate located on the tongue of the camper. From the vin we can usually confirm the year and possible the place it was manufactured.

Just rescued a Shasta Compact built at Northridge, Ca., Vin on welded tag is 31160. Rear window and frame missing, all others are Hehr Jalousie's. Still has original Green stove missing 2 knobs and Norco gas refrigerator, condition of both unknown. I can't pinpoint the year, but because of the window change, I am thinking must be in the 67 to early 69 range. The upper bed area was removed at the second hinge point and the aft closet was chopped off down to the first shelf and the door removed. The light fixtures are missing and the wiring is a mess. The door lock is missing, but are available from VTS. It will require a full rebuild and new skin. It does have some positive factors. The Coupler and Jack are perfect, the spare carrier is located in the center of the rear bumper and is very nicely done, the original gas light above the stove is like new with a perfect globe. I am not sure if I will add this to my projects or tempt someone else who wants a challenge. Any help in determining the year and finding the correct back window and other parts including 3 correct 13 inch wheels would certainly sway my thinking. The trailer made the 300 mile trip without any problems on 15 inch rims and tires. Please help me to find the parts and make a decision.

azshastanut I don't see anything on the database without a letter in front of it and no number out of that plant that high. Can you post a photo?

Hi nccamper, I discovered a State of California tag screwed to the left rear bottom of the body partially obscured by the bumper. The manufacturing year is 66 and the S# 31160. The frame rail where the letter and numbers are stamped was heavily sanded and painted. I stripped the paint but there was no evidence of any stamping.
