It's not a dumb question and I have had the same trouble. LOL. My hams lack a metal bumper... You might be able to mount them to a board that is secured to the old light plates some how. (NOT if the lights are original!) Another option could be the roof, tie a board across, maybe sticking out a few inches with the lights mounted below. (duct tape, screws, or?) Maybe put them in the back window?? Here's something that hangs in a window: www.custerproducts.com/product/tow-light-partners-pair/ Unfortunately, not very handy with Hehr windows... Anybody have any better ideas?

Anybody have any better ideas? You named all the good ones. The lights on the board is the best all around system. May as well keep the set up for the next one. There WILL be a next one. This is a disease and there is really no cure for it that is known to man. Another good thing to have is a registered license plate... (you didn't hear that from me)...

I actually do not have a true bumper. Hubs did get the lights to work although they grounded out about 300 miles into the trip. He was able to them going again and I put some reflective tape on--just in case! 😏

Ok, the lights did repeatedly fail us on our recent trip and I am going to order those temp lights before taking another long term trip. Hubs does think he REALLY has the problem figured out now but I am taking no further chances, lol!

Anybody have any better ideas? That shows my ignorance; having only the two campers so far, both of mine have metal bumpers, so I guess I hadn't considered that there were some that do not have! Learn something new every day.
