We hope on it 63.. Spring is coming and our state is not that big, hopefully our paths will cross. We are going to hit the field hard this years and start it early. We want to do Merl Fest in April and then to Hawassee the weekend after. You otta make it down to GA. in May for the ralley. "Everybody who is anybody" is attending.. unless of course you guys can't come then it's different. The gig is already getting the reputation for being the coolest, most rad vintage camper ralley on the east coast. I'm thinking about getting a new set of strings for the axe finding that set of bongo's I use to have. I've been looking over the rally in GA and it looks like a ton of fun. Unfortunately my BF has a new job and only has 2 weeks of vacation so we are limited on traveling a long distance. However, I have 5 weeks of vacation and could possibly bring her down on my own. How scary is that?

Okay Kim.. duh, I feel the silly boy, you are right beside us in Ga.! Cool beans and keep your fingers crossed.. Perhaps by a "Mirra-cal" you'll be in your camper. Stranger things have happened. I'm sure of it, somewhere, possibly. And for Macnmrs,.. AH.. the 5-week club. Sweet it'n it? I’m just getting there. It will not be official until April 22nd. I’m freaking out! I won't know what to do with myself. Add that run with the Holidays and it’s like I only have to work 10 months out of the year. You guys can make it.. there is 24 hours in a day you know. :)Waukesha, Wisconsin.. Wow, it even sounds like its a long ways away. You could drive it though, just get ya a sidekick to ride along with you.. Georgia's special in the spring time. The've written songs about it. Post note: It's a straight shot. 776 miles, 12 -1/2 hours... so it's like a full day, not really a full day if you don't count getting up and driving. It like going back and forth to work 12 times. right?. I personally dont see where the problem is, but that's just me.

With whatever you're consuming!!

I'm not really concerned about the distance because I'd just add time to there and back (all that vaca time) but just pulling it and what if something goes wrong? My sidekick would be my Brittany Spaniel - Mac and she isn't too helpful with tools.

Los Alamos, New Mexico. Halfway up a mountain (7200') with plenty of National Forest to camp in. We're refurbishing a '64 Shasta Compact. Next in line is this '63 Shasta AirFlyte. - Bryan

But start out with it in excellent shape including good tires and have the bearings serviced. Also make sure you have the proper hitch and that it is in good shape then a 800 mile trip should be trouble free.

I'll look into the RV Plus. The Vacationaire belongs to my BF and we have made it a hobby. He owns a '55 Ford Truck which he has restored over the last few years and we got the Vintage Camper bug at a show called Symco Shakedown here in WI. Lots of vintage cars with trailers. Fun, fun, fun. The BF will be putting on new tires and working on the bearings and electric brakes and all the mechanical mumbo-jumbo I know nothing about. You never know, I may just see if she'll be ready by then.

I tow with a 1941 Plymouth, also a late model Silverado depends where I am going. The RV plus adds a much longer service distance than just base AAA. We always had it for the wife but since I am older I use it if needed.

I am new to this forum and keep finding myself asking where do you live? Especially in reference to something that needs to be bought that you find local.
So where is your local? And what type of trailer do you have?
I'm Martha from Waukesha, Wisconsin and we have a 1965 Friendship Vacationaire. Hi Martha! I'm Sarah. I'm brand new to the forum as well. I'm from Fremont, California (Bay Area). I just recently bought a 1960 Shasta Airflyte.

Hi I'm Marguerite and live in Oakland Ca with my teenage son. I rebuilt a 1956 Shasta 1500 named aguadream a couple of years ago, took her on a 6000 mile journey that summer, and take her camping all the time. Welcome. You can read about it on here or at aguadream.blogspot.com Hi Marguerite, I just visited your blog site! Love it and your camper is fantastic. I am in the process of doing a major overhaul on a 1968 Shasta 1500( from the frame up). Last summer we also went on a big road trip (6,300 miles) and went to several of the places you mentioned in your trip. I would say that the Tetons and Bryce were our favorite stops. IF we get the camper done in time, we plan to take off in June and do it again. We did not make it to Zion, how was that? It's on out list as well as Arches N.P. And Glacier N.P.

Hi Martha, my name is Kim, and I live in western North Carolina. I have a 63 Shasta Airflyte. I am all thumbs when it comes to a hammer, so I am having mine redone. Her name is RiverSong. Maybe once you, Pathfinder and I get our campers finished, we can go camping together. Hey Kim, I'm Jody. I'm in the Greensboro area. Not sure what part of Western NC you are in, but we go up to Hot Springs several times a year to camp. It's about 45 mins outside of Asheville and it is a great campground. Once we finish putting Miss Daisy back together we will definitely be heading up there again and will let you know.
