Wiring continues to be installed 2018-01-14_09-55-28 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr And while he's working on that, I'm working on the skin, scrub, scrub scrub...... 2 side pieces done, 2 to go........ 2018-01-16_08-58-42 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 2018-01-16_08-58-05 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr And in the mean time, made a trip up north to drop off all of the supplies for my upholsterer to make my gaucho cushions, very excited about those, here are the plans, I know, ambitious, but I gave him the ok to "make it doable" also. I think he's up for the challenge. He asked me to draw them out and make them as clear as I could, hope this does it Gaucho design by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Gaucho fish design by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Of course I spent way more than I ever intended too! WOW. I've read your inspiring tale and what a beauty! I admit I am very jealous of your barn (although at this very moment I am sitting on my patio with my campfire on listening to the waves - the beach is about 100 feet away)....I might would trade for a barn.
The 'Vette looks amazing, and I love the cushions. What a wonderful project!

My son and I just made in 4 hours what is normally a 2.5 hour journey back from up north this evening to get those cushions because of an early snow storm. Right now I'd trade that barn for a view of the ocean and the ability to go outside without several layers of down, heavy boots and gloves!! Thanks for the nice comments!

Ha! I'm from Oregon originally. For YEARS I kept rope, tire chains, and Sorels in my car at all times. To this day (in Southern California) I warm up my car in the morning. Some things don't change.

Well, the electrical is to the point that we could test some of the fixtures. I know it's safe, because the hubby is all about safety, sometimes a little much so (IMO), so here are some pics. I think we now own stock in the "bus" Co. (At least I think that's what they are called). I decided to "walk away" a week or so ago, but was called back to view the end result. Love my little disc LED's, can't wait to see my new "Wall lamps" up. Glad we are nearing the end of the Electrical!! I know most of you could do this in your sleep, but this is my first finished project (sort of) and I'm pretty proud of it. I was going to wait to post my progress until I was finished with all the windows, but I couldn't resist.

What product / process did you use to clean your windows? They look great!

ladywendolyn Thanks, I found an old thread (pre 2013) on the Repairing Yesterdays Trailers site. I can't recall the gentlemans name or I would give him a plug, and I varied it a little with some others. The steps are: Soak in Oxalic Acid bath (You MUST use protection for this step: Eye, Skin and Breathing)(bought mine on Amazon) Scrub with 0000 Steel Wool & Murphy's Oil Soap (always keeping steel wool wet) Wipe Off Straighten Buff with white cloth wheel and white rouge bar (there will be a blackish residue, don't worry) Polish with Mothers aluminum/chrome polish He also suggested waxing them, I haven't done that yet, will do before install.

Yes CorvettCrzy...you did a very nice job. A little elbow grease (or in your case steel wool and murphy's oil soap) did wonders on those windows and brows! Great tutorial for lots of folks out there.

12v interior lights are finished. All wiring for taillights in and backing plates for install. He decided to use metal "because it bends easier". He glued it in with epoxy and then used pop rivets for a pressure fit to hold in place until the epoxy cures. 12v light, no other lights on by Corvett crzy, on Flickr I think these little lights are so cute with the "burlap" shade to make them fit the period better. They give off a soft glow when the other lights aren't on. New 12v light by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Got the small center light - plenty big for me - don't look straight at it. Plus the lumens of it and the next size up were almost the same. 2018-02-12_11-42-34 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr license plate holder backing plate Backer plate for license holder by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Taillight by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Potty Test fit. I think I'm going to raise the bench seats up about an inch just for a little extra clearance. Potty placement by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Cleaned skin all weekend, mostly finished except for a few spots. Hung a piece, to keep it safe and for inspiration. Test fit by Corvett crzy, on Flickr After some elbow grease I found the location of the old Corvette labels. Guess I'm going to have to get some more to replace them in their original locations! Corvette emblem makes appearance by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Don't be fooled by the nice smell and the sherbert look of the Orange stripper, it works well, and it Eats foam brushes. I let it set overnight on what I believe to be liquid nails. I had accepted that I wasn't going to get that stuff off. But after 24 hours I was able to scrape a few layers off. I'll probably use that process a couple more times and should have most of it off. It was thick too, all the way around the door. Orange stripper eats foam brush by Corvett crzy, on Flickr It's easy to forget its a powerful stripper, keep your hands covered. Well, about all I did today was order parts............ lots funner than cleaning skins though!!

Although we've been making a lot of progress planning and getting the supplies to install the gas and plumbing, the results are coming slowly along. The Gas light is in and at one point the line to it was in, just noticed it's back out again, apparently another change in the engineering........ Gas light installed by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Shelf for frig is in, received water tank and parts for the lines. Planning on putting a T in the line going to hand pump, mating it with sink drain with a valve between so we can drain the tank. Not sure what to put through the floor. I would love to put a small gray water tank under the floor, husband says not enough room. Painting the stove top and grates (having them refinished was just too expensive, rather spend that money elsewhere). Used regular rattle can on the stove but High Heat semi-gloss on the inside and grates. Strange I found high heat paint in two different areas of my hardware, different finishes, different prices, same manuf., and same temp limits. Some lower limits in the High Heat for automobiles. Lesson - look everywhere. I started out with a matte, finally found a semi-gloss, much better for the grates. I think the yellow matches pretty well (back - vintage, front knob section - repainted). One more coat to go & gloss on yellow by Corvett crzy, on Flickr

Wow the black looks good on the grates! As to the sink drain I found a tiny 5 gallon Grey tank that fits under my kitchen cabinet. Drain pipe comes in the top and then out the bottom. The drain holes were pre-drilled and ready to go when I got it. My plumber says it’s a perfect solution. Fits right in. I’ll find a link.. it was cheap.

Here is a photo of mine.. the little one sits sideways in the cupboard. You can see the predrilled holes in the photo. Very thick and durable.
