Hi All,
I am brand new to the group but have spent most of yesterday afternoon and this morning getting up to speed on the forum so hope this post does not look like a short-cut on my part. The forum looks like an amazing resource as I only started my vintage trailer search two weeks ago. Not many local project options but have had some luck on CraigsList->Wanted to Buy. Found this one just the other day...

I don't have a ton of detail, but the seller, sounds like a nice guy, says, "No structural issues. No leaks. Tows like a dream. Small soft spot in rear floor, somewhat easy fix. As it's 50 years old I was going to relaminate the walls. I would upgrade the lights to LED's. Only issue on exterior is corners. Various options to fix. Roof does not leak but was thinking to coat it with a rubber membrane". So my questions before I inspect:
1. For the corners (Jrails?), and from the photo it may be an issue around the whole camper, is replacement of damaged spots pretty straight-forward, will finding or fabricating new corners be a challenge, and I gather inspecting the wood that has been exposed underneath is a must? Could be a much bigger job if I have to take off the skin and replace outer walls which would cause me to pass on this one.
2. For the floor, it sounds like a pretty straight-forward replace of the rotted floor boards, all or in part. However, should I look at the underbelly to see if the damage goes all the way through. Sounds like the underbelly could be aluminum or composite board so gather composite could have rotted over the years? Gather I wont be able tell if the floor joists, or whats in between the underbelly and the floor are also a problem without taking apart?
Any pointers to tutorials or posts I may have missed are much appreciated as well. Thank you!
