Adderall,
Your window screens look amazing. I always wondered how the Nylox wheel would do in this application.
Larry, it continues to look fantastic. I love the glint of light reflecting off the rounded corner of the wardrobe.
Cheers,
Rod

Hi Friends,
I have been away from the board for a while. I was feverishly working to rebuild the door to my 1955 Rod and Reel in time to make a rally last weekend. No door, no rally. It was stressful. I did make the rally, though. Door was hung 5 days prior. I have also been navigating the world of vintage Marvel fridges in order to get that up and running and installed before the rally. Couple all that with a busy work schedule, I was not finding time to even read the board. The house is a mess and my yard is a jungle and needs some attention. Oh, and lets not leave out my wife. She needs attention too.
Currently working on a draft posting for the door and I will post pix from the rally when I get a free moment. It might be in a few weeks after school lets out for the rally pix to post. Currently in Report Card Hell.
Cheers,
Rod

58 mobile scout The under counter lights are small 12v puck lights from superbrightled. The holder is cut out with a 4in hole saw, with the center scroll sawed to fit. 0603221400 by johnchr777, on Flickr

John, Your woodwork is amazing. I haven't seen any pix of your build yet. These are the first. I love the blond wood. What wood is that for the cabinets and paneling? Love the pole barn. I shouldn't forget the tasteful and unique floor. The trailer is going to be fantastic when its complete. Cheers, Rod

58 mobile scout The armoire is made to accept a small ge fridge freezer, slide in under the clamps in the back, and bolted on the bottom near the front. There needs to be more ventilation in that area for the heat coming off the fridge - still working on the ideas for that. The bank of light switchs on either side are for controlling all lighting, two way, near the entrance and in the sleeping area. Plus there are individual switching near each light fixture - so lots of control over lighting. 1125201646 by johnchr777, on Flickr 0603221402 by johnchr777, on Flickr 0603221358a by johnchr777, on Flickr

The cabinet frames are doug fir, all paneling is 1/8 birch from Owl lumber Lombardi IL, door frames are birch. I got all of that from the same place, and also used up a bunch of birch flooring scraps. But when I needed more fir, I just went to menards, picked through their doug fir 4x4s, found some clear straight grained dark heartwood for 1/10th the price, and ripped them to 3/4. I experimented with a bunch of combinations of finish like shellac, poly, tints and dyes, spray, brush. My wife saw me struggling and asked what was the flooring and finish used in the house. It's birch, with 3 coats of flooring varathane. She said I like it, just use that. So I laid out 6 sheets of ply on the garage floor and finished them all in a day. No stain or tints. I'm hoping the birch and fir naturally age dark like the flooring has in the house. In the barn, there are all kinds of friends. I can hear bats living up behind the upper beams, meadow mice, a raccoon came in one time while I was working, barn swallows, and for a while there was a barn owl nesting.

Sawset,
Your description of working inside the barn was priceless. From someone who has never stepped inside a barn and is a city guy, I thank you for that small treat. 😊
Cheers,
Rod

Hey Sawset, What mechanism if any are you using when the porta potty is pulled out? At this time, the door and platform are seperate, with the platform being on rollers, and basically free to roll. Once inside, there is a simple wood lock to keep it in place and to keep it from pushing the door open.
