_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ QUOTE Number Ten said: The one thing that settles it though, is the title. It says it is a '57, so you have (for all intents and purposes) a '57. Case closed, so far as DMV is concerned... 40 minutes ago mobiltec said: I have a problem with that. Something is wrong. If it were mine I would try to fix it. Number Ten said I would also, but not until a.) it is legally in my name, and b.) I have absolute proof of its real manufacture date. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I would remove the paint on the tongue to search for serial numbers and make sure they matched the title if they do and there are no other numbers then it isn't critical BUT if they find numbers that don't match that could be a major problem. The reason being that if someone else finds it before you do, you "could" lose your trailer.

I would start on the right (curb) side right behind the coupler welds. Don't grind the paint off as many times the numbers are very swallow use paint remover or a wire brush.

Sooooooo we couldn't find the number on the tongue, it's possible that once it gets a bit warmer and we can take the paint off the entire tongue it will show up. In the meantime, we sent in the title and it should be back in a couple days, in our name(s). Fingers crossed that everything goes as it should, as I will be super sad if there is a problem with this.
I've been reading the proper introductions that others have made and realized that I leapt in without doing that. My husband and I like road trips and we like to camp. Over the years we have mostly pulled pop-ups and at times used pickup campers after the kids grew up. We decided what would really suit us best was a small trailer and have been looking for a canned ham for several years. After driving into pastures and lake lots only to find a poor little neglected camper slowly becoming one with the earth it was sitting on, we finally found our prize, whom we haved named RolyPoly.
Roly has issues. This little trailer is already the apple of my eye but we are not blind to her wood rot and who knows what all else is wrong. I'm hoping we can get started on her rehab in early spring.
Going to try to post some pictures of the water damage and rot if I can remember how ny niece did that. :-). If not, I'll see her on Sunday and do it then.

Cute kitchen. I like the colored sink. Is that an old apple peeler?

Thanks! I really like the color, too. You know, I'm not sure what that gizmo is. There are a couple strategically placed clamps in back kinda holding it together and I was thinking that is what that was but I'll have to take a closer look. Along with that thing were several aqua wood handled utensils, some old drinking glasses and a brochure from Bob Brooks 7 Seas Nightclub in Hollywood that had a photo in it of a man surrounded by ladies. Was it possibly the original owner of our camper? Fun to speculate but we will probably never know. We do historic renovations and often find interesting relics and artifacts as we do jobs but didn't expect to find stuff in such a small and relatively bare space as inside that little camper.

Dawn you would be surprised at the kinds strange little artifacts we find in these campers when we tear into them. Just the initial first clean up can produce lots of little gems. I had a trailer that Charles Manson used to relax in out near the ranch where he was arrested. My trailer was only a few miles from there in the 70s. And I have artifacts from that era I found in the camper. So you just never know!

Not sure why you are not getting the rot picture, Dawn. Be sure you are clicking on the little wheel in the rot picture itself... each photo has a different image link.
Don't worry about extra posts, I can delete them later...

Bring em on!
I'm assuming you have a Photobucket account? That is the easiest way to post photos here.
