Sorry to be posting so many new threads. I hope it isn't a problem. I searched "fender" in this subforum and couldn't find much.
So I'm still working on the finishing touches on m frame. Just dropped it off at a shop to have chain loops welded on, a separate outrigger support (what do you call those things?) welded on where the step will be mounted, and have the jack hole widened so modern trailer jacks will fit.
I'm thinking about adding separate fenders, rather than just shaping and lining the floor/walls. When disassembling the old structure, I saw several dents and crushed spots. I'm trying to think back to blowouts I've had, or that time my wife's car slung a wrench from the road up into her car, things like that.
While I have the option to do so, is it worthwhile to add separate fenders (a thicker metal, like on a utility trailer) for protection, then build my floor/walls around those?

Hi, I think the problem with the search was that you used "fender". Try "wheel well" or "wheel well cover" or "fender well". I searched under "wheel well" and found this. Very relevant to your question. Click >> hereCheers, Rod
